Oh Canaaaaaadaaaaaa, Land of the everlasting DRL's...

I think it was a fair statement and was not meant to be confrontational or accuse you of being FOS. There are a fair number of vehicles on the road here that have DRL's and I have yet to notice any of them suffer a DRL failure in proportion to that of the Chevy trucks. How do Ford DRL's hold up up there? I ASSume that they run like the cavaliers and use the vehicles headlights and not a separtate bulb?

I had an 03 Silverado. I had to change the bulbs in the running lights a couple of times in the 3 years I drove it. It was an irratant.

Was it the same bulb that blew? Did you try any aftermarket bulbs or another brand of bulbs? It's odd that 3 bulbs would burn out of their own accord unless there was some outside influnce on the element in them, say more current. Could be like the #3 plug wires on 98 Cavaliers....used to arc against hte block and Chevy replaced it for free if the car had less than 50K miles. Which was awesome because I was flat broke when it started sguggin 140 miles into a 180 mile trip.

pretty much every vehicle uses reduced wattage high beams for DRL so they last a very long time. GM trucks use the separate bulb and a few other vehicles (Caravan) use front ambers at a higher wattage (brightness of flashing signal, but constant)

Dont like the Caravan setup. If you lose the bulb you lose a functioning light. At least with the GM and high beam setups, you dont lose your basic low beam if the DRL dies.
