Life without Ford

Okay, here's a little fun question for y'all:

Let's pretend that Ford doesn't exist. OKay, well, Ford the car company exists but the F-Series trucks do not.

If this were the case, what truck would you buy? Would you be satisfied?

(Please keep in mind that the Honda Ridgeline is not a real truck, unless you're a girl.)

I'd own a Chevy truck. I've never owned one, although my father only buys Chevies. I've owned 6 Ford pickups plus a couple F350 work trucks. There are a couple areas where the Chevies are now preferable over the Fords. They haven't gotten so overly large that they are no longer functional for shorter people like myself (5'6.5"). The drivetrain doesn't vibrate like the new F150's. The tires are still a reasonable and affordable size. My next truck might be a Chevy even if Ford still exists, I don't like where they are heading.

I'd still buy what I have now! explore/mountaineer! Does the job almost as good as the F-150 does!

Mountain, I am going to have to disagree on that one. I owned a 99 Mountaineer V8, granted it had better get up and go than my F-150, but that about where it stopped. I liked it allot, but no comparison........sorry man.

My truck would probably be a mid sized Toyota........Tacoma.....4X4 of course.

U had the old body style. That year didn't do to good. 02-05's cannot even compare to the 01 and older modles

I can tell you I never had a single problem out of it. It had good power and was pretty much loaded. Don't get me wrong, it was a good car, but after getting the 150, I will never(hopefully) go back to any SUV for MY personal car.

i would get a chevy. I agree with rockyjsquirrel- the f-150's have gotten too big in some ways. the bed is too deep to reach anything in the bottom of it when standing on the ground and if u are actually using it as a truck for work this is important. i guess i would have to get some of those longer nerf bars and that would solve some of the problem.

Dan.

Ah i love how deep the box is. Of course im 6'3'' so i can reach over it. I like it alot for hauling tools because i can stack them up double high where as my last 99 i couldnt. That extra few inches helps alot i think. It does kinda suck when backing up or seeing cars behind you off to the side. Kind of a blind spot. I just drive a chevy tonight....2005 and yuck i was so glad to get back into my truck. Just didnt feel right.

I would have to go with a red or black dodge hemi sport. I think they are a sharp looking truck on the outside and they have that power i want. Still overall it doesnt compare to my lariat. (ride, comfort, styling, interior, ect.)

If F-series trucks were not in existence I would undoubtedly own a Ford Ranger. I like the size of my F150 that's why I bought it instead of the Ranger but if Ranger were the only Ford truck on the road, that's what I'd drive
