newsgroups : Question for the Geeky ones

Hi question for u geeks

My isp which is wireless and are complaining about the amount im downloading im hogging the AP They set a download speed limit on me if i use P2P during peak hours anyways
I use Newsbin pro .. is there a way to start this program at 12:00 Midnight and shutdown at 6:00 am have premission during these hours Anyway to add it as a task ? or some script ? to start a query of downloads ?

on a side question i have a good newserver that alowes 2 connections 128Kbs per . if i set newsbin pro to use one connection i get only 16Kbs if i set it to use two connections i get 160 - 240Kbs

and how does my isp know im using news groups over Http just by the Port ?
because i can stream video for hours and never get hit by their stupid speed limit download and it kicks in till i call and tell them to reset me

Newsgroups use NNTP. Pull up your "command prompt" next time and type in "netstat" while downloading from NG's and you should see it.

As far as an automated program, hmmm, I know powerpost does an automated upload, maybe they have something on the DL side. You might try a web search on "automated binary client" or something.

Try this...

Binary Boy looks like it might do what you want.
