Kobi™ does The Coffee Dance™ plus TempurPedic mattress question:
If I wasn't drinking this right now . . . . .

. . . . . I'd be dead.
Does anyone have a Tempur-Pedic mattress? (a REAL one...not a knock-off)
If so, what was your sleep like before and after? Did it really make a difference?

After I broke my back, my DR wrote me a prescription for one and I would never go back to anything else. After I got mine, my parents bought another one because they liked it so much. Its really worth the money!

But seriously... what about for us fatties?! I destroy everything in Ľ of the time a normal human would. A mattress usually lasts a few years (these are the so-called 'no flip' 10-15 year matresses) if that. Any fatties have this for a couple years? How is it holding up?!
My parents got one about a year or two ago, and they keep telling me how awesome it is. Whenever I go down to visit, I make it a point to nap on their bed...
They havent had any problems with it whatsoever, they just told me that its just really, really heavy.
I'm considering getting one for myself! I've had one of the tempur-pedic pillows for over 4 or 5 years, and I cant tell any difference in "tempurpedicness" since I first got it.

I just orderd mine and will kick the wife out as soon as it gets here!

BTW:
That is the best endorsment for a product that I have ever heard!
Still sleepless in LA?
We don't have a TempurPedic mattress, we have the Select Comfort mattress and I love it. Best mattress we've ever owned but since I've never experienced sleeping on Hootie Cans I cannot give you an accurate description

What has helped, is Starbucks Decaf. I used to hammer people that drank decaf, because...well...what's the point? But now I know. And now, I sleep.
Judging by your dependancy, which I would admit is greater than mine was, you may not be willing to do something like that. But that's ok. I'm not losing sleep over it!

TempurPedic or select comfort. I'm going back and forth and I'll be in the market sooner rather than later.

BUT, for the last few days, my mood is much improved, no headache, and for the first time in YEARS, MANY YEARS, I am sleeping 6 to 7 hours straight without waking up every 45-60 minutes to change position, and then stew because it would take 30 minutes just to get back to sleep for another 45-60 minutes.
I feel your pain.
Many years ago, when I was a younger Kobi, I gave up caffeine cold turkey. Back then I was drinking about 3-4 cups of coffee a day AND a minimum of 6-10 cans of Coke a day . . . .that's a lot of caffeine.
I had the worst headache . . . migraine levels that lasted 7 days straight. Total withdrawal symptoms . . . shaky, irritable, didn't sleep . . . the usual. After that I broke thru and was OK. My life improved greatly after that.
I was off caffeine for about three years, then got moved to a graveyard shift and started up on coffee again. Have been on it ever since.
I know I should get off coffee, or at the very least cut down on the intake . . .but . . .
excuses . . . excuses . . . excuses.

Recently, I have tested both. I have heard great things about both, but the select comfort seems a bit gimmicky to me . . . something about having a pump for your bed just doesn't seem right . . .
when I laid on the TempurPedic . . . whoa!
I have one of their pillows . . . it's nice . . .but with a regular hard mattress my shoulders don't sink so that my head is at the level to allow the formed pillow to work as designed . . .
regardless . . . at 3,400 bucks it seems a lot of money to spend only to find out months later that it's not all that its cracked up to be.
I know they have a 90 day return policy . . . but the mattress I have now I got about 3 years ago . . . at first it was great . . .after having it for about 2 years I could no longer sleep well on it . . . .
decisions, decisions, decisions . . . .
and tough decisions too. why cant I get the easy decisions?!?!?!?!
I could handle such mundane things as "Hey, Mr. President, should we nuke the Middle East?" that's a piece of cake . . .
but deciding if I should chuck a mattress thats only three years old for a new one . . . that weighs heavily on me.
In the meantime . . . Kobi's day is gonna look pretty much like this:
P.S. Winter is coming . . . oh yes it is!
P.S. and here's a special secret message for a certain lurker . . . KINKO'S called . . . they said you haven't been there yet.
What's up with that?
:santa:

No need to chuck the old mattress. Put it in a spare bedroom. You don't impress me as the type of man to live in a 1 bedroom condo, I assume you have a house.
When I did a Google search for TempurPedic mattress, most of the hits came back for mattress pads. Have you considered one of those?
IMHO, your sleeping problem has little or nothing to do with your mattress. I would guess that something is stressing you out, whether you want to admit it or not. Until you are at peace inside, a $3000 mattress isn't going to help you sleep any better.
