Question Calling 04 Red Lariat

I have noticed your new toy, your Kawasaki Brute Force. I am in the market for a new ATV myself but have never had an automatic ATV. I am really leaning towards the Brute Force and was wondering what your opinions are about it. I reckon I am old fashion, but I like the manual shifts and it has me being questionable about getting an automatic. Just wanted to know what you think about it your bike, thanks for any info. The only ATVs that I have owned have been Kawasaki, for the last 14 years, which is part of the reason why I am leaning towards the Brute Force, and never had any major problems with them.

Any body else with opinions are welcome too. Thanks.

I was once set on owning nothing but a foot shift atv. But in 99 I switched to the electric shift that honda had then a few years later switched to a full automatic.

Now I would never own another atv that was not automatic. It makes everything so much easier. No wet feet from shifting, tring to find the right gears, etc.

The brute force is the first belt driven automatic I have had the others were hondamatics. I was over worried at first about the belt. What if it slips or gets wet or snaps. But I have put around 1500 miles on the brute in 3 months with no problems.

The belt system is sealed pretty good and does not leak. The only way it can take on water is if you get it over the intake, like any other atv. No slippage it hooks up much better than the hondas I had and puts the power down to the ground very well.

The only thing I did not like was the stock tires. They were 2ply and the side wall flexed way to much giving it the feeling it was unstable but it was really only the crappy tires.

2 things you may want to upgrade if you go with the brute force would be the stock tires and the stock tierods and ends. They are weak.

The 750 puts out great power so be careful it will fool you and have you on the back rack before you know it.

Mostly everyone around here still is set on hondas but they all stare with an open mouth when they hear the big v-twin go by.

If you have any more specific questions or need pics let me know.

Thanks for the reply, I have heard about concerns with the tie rods, and like you said there must be upgrades for that. I was leaning on a Honda, but I looked at a couple Brute Forces today and was very happy with what I saw. I can see what you mean by the tires by just looking at them, they will definatly need to go. I am still a couple months from actually getting one, I just wanted to start looking at whats out there. Keep me updated if anything changes on how you feel about the bike. Thanks again for the reply.
