Any Fedora users in the house?

Man, this is insane! I may as well be working on a 486DX2/66. Friggin' 17 minutes 90% complete. Shoot me. I should have overnighted my other spindle.

Damn D....you could re-write the entire Fedora code that that 486DX2/66 before you finish burning those CD's....
UPDATE: Install attempt #1. Partitioned drive, selected packages... CRASH! "Please copy and paste the crap below to report this bug" Grrr... that's what I get for a 'custom' install...

Yup, and only a single hit... and not what I wanted...
Anywho, its up and running, with the minor glitch of not communicating on my network... destination host unreachable my %*#(! So I see netstat is there, but WTF happened to ifconfig?!

this issue reminds me of when I gave RedHat a chance back in 1999......I got the damn thing loaded....but it did not have correct drivers for my modem....(not a win modem either).....I could not for the life of me find the drivers...even thought the HowTos said that the version I installed supported my modem....I called RedHat for some support....and all they could suggest was that I go to "http://www.suchandsuchsite.com" and download the drivers.....yet....they could not comprehend that it was my MODEM that I could not get to work....thus could not get online.....
...anyway....that story went nowhere.....any new and improved features?
It's been awhile since I poked around my RH8 box. Looks the same, still has an unpolished and pokey GUI. I'll know more as I play around with it. I mainly need it to load network probe/hacking tools. I have a ForeScout appliance I get to wail on for 30 days.
I am working with installing Mandriva 2006 (used to be Mandrake). I considered Fedora. I am anxious to see how it goes for you. I cannot get Mandriva to pick up my on-board video, so I need to get a cheap Nvidia PCI card. My motherboard is an "El cheapo" from Tiger Direct. I had Slackware for about a week and I did not like it at all. It may just be because I am not entirely used to Linux. We will see what happens once I get video. Maybe I will try Fedora before I buy new video card. Of course, I have already downloaded about 800 versions of Linux to "try". I would probably have an even nicer truck if I spent half the time/money on it that I do on the computer.

What in the world does Linux have to do with IE being a POS?....

I believe it is the reference to open source browsers (firefox, etc)
Psst...I'll let everyone in on a little secret...
Firefox isnt any more secure than IE but us techs like to talk about it like it is.
If IE had tabbed browsing I'd use it more.
