Gerber!

the way everything fold out of a Gerber, it leaves a smooth rounded edge of the handle to grip. With the leathermen, you're holding where all the tools fold out from, which is rough and isn't comfortable to hold when you're having to use the tools.
i hope that made sense...

Which one is best for you?

A 'Gerber Urban Legend' is about 93 dollars.
An 'Leatherman Pro' is about 49 dollars.

...and [cough...cough] you did lose your last one.

Gerber all the way.

Makes a Leatherman look like it's a cheap $49 toy.

I love my Leatherman Wave. I don't go ANYwhere without it, and the first thing I had to consider if I would come down here to Widener was if I was even allowed to carry it.

It looks like the Wave has been changed since I got mine two years ago, so I don't know how the new ones are.

I dont have either... they are handy but I have 2 cell phones I carry already, I dont want anything else. If I was going to get one though I would probably go with Gerber. Most convincing display I seen was 2 guys having this argument. They were friends but disagreed on which was better. So they decided to lock the plier jaws together and twist till one of them broke. They were pretty big guys and after a few minutes of this hilarious plier wresteling match. The LeatherMan snapped. Both were only a few days old so it was pretty fair.

Leatherman!!!!!!!

The new Wave is wonderful and I personally carry and abuse dailey a Leathman Charge Xti. Neither one do you have to unfold to use the blades(one handed locking and unlocking), saw or file. Check them out and you'll find there isn't a comparable item right now.

Depends....I'm finding that you can find more support for Gerber if you have to buy stuff. I personally love the Leatherman Wave, but that's the ONLY Leatherman I think is worth a darn.

I have an original Gerber, a Leatherman and a Leatherman super tool. I use the original Leatherman more than the other 2 combined.
