Why do they. . .

Why do the police put up those little speed detector trailors all over the place? Are they used for public awarness and thinking that they make me people drive slower? I know a lot of people who haul *** by them on their bikes to see how fast they can get it to read.

I've been looking for one of those, to see if my speedometer is adjusted correctly since my 22s and 4.10 gears were installed. No luck yet.

I just drove by one and my speedometer was 6 mph off with just my 33s. I thought it was only supposed to be off like 1 mph with 33s.

I'll tell you why I think they do it. They put that trailer out for a day or two to warn you. Every time I've seen one on a street I normally travel, 2-3 days later there are officers with radar guns giving out tickets.

One wonders, Do those Radar trailers record speeds that will tell the Po Po's where the need to give tickets after they review the results.

I agree they are fun and you can test your vehicle. I drove past one once doing like 125 – 130 and it started flashing “Game Over”…

Since I owned “some of it” (my tax dollars) I wanted to take it somewhere else to do some “testing” but they took a wheel off, just one wheel was messing, WTF is that about? How am I going to play with a new toy I “partially” bought if I can’t hook up to it and relocate it?

I wonder if it shows the speed while being towed? I have always wanted to take one of them.

Talking

They put the speed detectors out so you go over 100 mph before you pass it. It doesn't really serve as a deterrance. It encourages you to speed.

Well, some states have them set up to take photos.

Im sure when people get a $200 speeding ticket in the mail they will stop blowing past them.

Here we are REQUIRED to have a plate in front and a plate in back.

To many people were buying plates for one vehicle and putting one of them on a second vehicle.

Soon they will do something about trailer plates too. I have 3 trailers and one plate.

I've blown past 'em just to spite them. Where I park at work, I almost ran over one since I gotta make a U-turn around a bridge support to get to where I park sometimes, and they had the trailer set up at the apex of that U-turn which is pretty much blind until you get right up on it.

Last time I saw one, it clocked me doing like 70 in a 35.
