Windows Media gurus?

I have an "issue" with WMP...

I'm running v9 on Windows 2000 sp4...

Whenever I tried to listen to audio online using WMP it will download, setup whatever needs to be done, then just says "ready" and nothing more will happen. This happens with the Sirius online player now, and when I tried to go listen to the Nickelback CD some linked, same thing...

any ideas?

Yep gotta agree^^...sometimes just hitting play will help when it says ready but WMP can be touchy...no errors?

Hitting play doesn't help... I don't know of any other ways around it. It works just fine for listening to internet radio and MP3's, just doesn't like Sirius and a few others... Amazon included...

I think alot of these issues are addressed in verson 10...I would try upgrading to this...I have v10 and can play Sirius....

Hmmm... wasn't aware there was a new version... I'll give it a try... I think I have v9 at home with Windows XP, and no problems there though...

You can't put v10 on win2k.

It sounds like a possible codec issue? Do a search on "windows media player alternative" and see if there's something out there. I know they make one fore quicktime and real player (the real player alternative works very well).
