Ford Freestyle as a Rental
Holy hell! They stuck me in this thing as my rental as the Cobra ia in for service. I was surprised that it had alittle umpf. As in I was expecting a turd and only got a dog. But overall I don't like minivans and I sure don't like this. But worst off is that it is most umcomfortable to drive. I am a taller guy musclar with a touch of beer at 6'2. My right leg hits just under the knee on the consoul and it makes driving a real pain. It makes my whole leg and lower back numb and then soar. The dead pedal is where the clutch should be so I feel really crunched in from the waste down. But from the waist up I have tons of room. All in all it is ok but uber boring for everyhting. If I were ever to consider a minivan which I hope to god I never have to, I would go with the Quest in a second. But then again the Freestyle no longer has sliding doors.

Oh yeah they locked me for two weeks unlimited miles for this thing. oh joy.

When I first saw the prototype photos of the Freestyle, I thought it looked like a pretty cool vehicle -- so much so that I gave it a look when out shopping for the wife's new Escape early this year!
As soon as I saw it, however, it was an easy decision -- the Freestyle was WAY too much like a minivan (too tall and bulky) and not nearly enough like the sporty wagon (Pacifica, Cayenne) I was expecting!
Add to it the fact that it's a bit underpowered, and you have yourself a real yawner!
