2003 Z06 hp ?

I need some help guys....

I'm talking to my buddy with a 2003 Z06.
He says the 405 hp rating from GM is at the wheel, I am saying engine. As far as I know, all manufactures HP ratings are at the flywheel.. am I correct with this assumption?

I am thinking it would put down around 350-360 rwhp.

Can anyone post or direct me to a few stock dyno graphs so I can prove my point... if I'm right of course, which I think I am.

thanx guys,
Iron

It's 405hp at the crank, 385hp at the wheel according to car and driver.

Yes, advertised numbers are always at the crank... They're more impressive, and then you don't have to explain why the same engine puts down less power in a different vehicle...

If 405 to the crank isn't enough maybe your buddy should consider an '06. 505hp and 470ft-lbs. Not a bad price at around 70k. 7.0, I guess there is no replacement for displacement.

I'm not a big GM fan but I've got to give them props on the Corvette.

My father has a blue 2003 Z06 Corvette... talk about an amazing car! I love going back to Florida and "borrowing" his car for a couple days. It pulls in all six gears, and even with the stock exhaust... its a pleasure to the ears.

He is dead set on getting the 2006 Z06, and I'm trying to convince him that Pittsburgh will make a nice retirement home for his "old" Corvette.

I always come back home to my truck after a few days at my parents and am just a tad disappointed that it doesnt have a six-speed too...

I'm not much of a 'vette fan, but I know of a guy on my Mustang forum that has a Z06 he sent to Lingenfelder (sp?) for heads and cams. It puts down 500rwhp, and the thing is absolutely bad ***...best sounding 'vette I've ever heard, and is unbelievably balanced when stepping out of line and getting it back in. Needless to say, his car has made me like the newer Vettes Looks like you got the right HP info for them already.
