hardwood flooring help needed
RUSSELL...Yes..its all laminate floor even the kitchen tile. It is all SHAW flooring http://www.shawfloors.com/index.asp
There was a decent amount of time between each room. After the kitchen was done, it was about 3 years befroe I did the family room, 2 years later I did the bedroom. But when I did it, I finished each room all at once. A good way to save a few bucks is to go to home depot and see hats on sale. The only thing is that when they put the Shaw on sale, it usually means its either discontinued from Shaw or Home Depot just isn't going to carry it anymore, so make sure you get enough to do the entire room at once.
I wouldn't do half of the house now and then the other half next year. Im just think you would have a problem matching it or even getting the same style again a year later. May be just get an area rug to hide the bad spot for now. Save a few buks and then go get it all at once. JMO...

edit: or do what PSS said. That will work also.

I was in Home Depot yesterday and they have some wood flooring on sale. I didn't look too closely but it was called American Oak or something like that and it was a ridiculously low $1.18 per foot (about $28 for a box of about 22 square feet).
I'm actually considering this since it is less than one third the cost of the crappy carpet I put down 6 years ago. Anybody seen this stuff and will I regret going with something this cheap?

Rocky...its most likely Shaw flooring. The only thing you will regret is if you dont get enough to do the entire space you want to do now. I dont know if its a color Nome Depot will not carry any more, or thats discontinued or what. But I was lucky enough to get a buy like that when I did my kitchen and the bedroom. It saced me a ton of money. But once its gone from the store I have never seen it back. So just get enough the first time and you'll be happy.

Rough numbers I can get enough for my living room, dining room and hallway for about $435. That doesn't include transition strips or any installation materials, just the flooring. Still cheap compared to the $1700 I paid for carpet for the same area 6 years ago.
Quick update on my flooring project....
We decide to go with the Kronotex Wild Cherry as it was priced at 99 cents sq ft. and it appears to be a good quality floor. This was through AFFORDAFLOOR.COM and the shipping was around $120 to the local terminal.
THis was half of what the other internet companies wanted.
I have already started to put it down, starting in our dining room, foyer and living room. I have these rooms pretty much complete except for the trim work.
So far everyting has gone OK. I have a few pieces that the laminate chipped off and I didn't notice until too late and ripping up the old glue down floor in the foyer was a real b!tch but mostly everything else has gone pretty smooth.
Here are a few pictures (ignore the crazy dawg!):

It always amazes me how it changes the whole mood of the room.
Looks much more cheerful, yet still relaxing, more comfortable and more expensive/classier.

Can you email me the website where you purchased the flooring? I tried affordafloor.com and it does not exist. Please email to paulfender1@hotmail.com

Quintin,
yep, he has UGA blood running through him. His granddaddy was UGA V.
We have been thinking about breeding him but we just don't know anyone with a lady dog.
WE may just have to get another one once my wife is employed again.
