Have you ever won anything? I finally did!!!

Check this action out. I purchased my parents a laptop from Dell under my business account. Upon doing so, I got automatically entered into a Dell 1-in-100 sweepstakes to win some stuff -- I had no clue the sweepstakes was even going on. Well, about 2 weeks later, I got an email from ePrize Fulfillment Services saying I won something. At first I said yeah right, this is BS phishing for my info especially considering they asked for my social security number. Well I did a little more reading, and found out the sweepstakes itself was legit. I think investigated the company doing the promotion for Dell and found that it was legit. I then further investigated the claim that I won, and low and behold, everything seemed right, so I went ahead and filled out the paperwork, sent it in. Well, here's what arrived today via UPS. A Dell W2600 LCD TV - 26" LCD Widescreen love, HDTV ready with DVI inputs too.

So, any of you ever had any luck winning anything? This is my first time, and I didn't even know I was in a sweepstakes! Hehe.

Nope, I got them a $1900 laptop for less than $1100. Plus, they're full time RV'ers so they don't have a place for it even if I wanted to give it to them.

Don't forget to declare it's value as income on your tax return!

Yeah no doubt, luckily the price at time of shipping was down to $989 or something, so I don't think taxes will be bad at all...but I do need investigate that part of it. It's still worth it IMO but thanks for the reminder

I've won before but I like yours better.

My win was on an APC contest and I got four UPS's. When the power goes out now I get entertained by dueling UPS beeping.

The only thing I've ever won, was the chance to know somebody who's won something. Years ago, when McD's had the monopoly game, my friends parents won. They got the Centipeed arcade game, a complete home theater system with TV and a bunch of otehr crap. Then 2 years ago, when Pepsi had the Pepsi Challenge game, my little bro won a chance on stage for the big money (and the TV show that was on) Pepsi flew him and his wife to Florida and payed for everything, treated them like royalty and all. He said it was awesome. Unfortunaltely he never made it to the stage. his number wasnt picked.

So, umm...if it werent for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all

I got a "free pepsi" cap once. And redeemed it for a free 20oz pepsi!

But really, Ive been to three baseball games, not the majors or anything, and TWICE i have bought a program and won a prize package for having a lucky number or code or something printed in my program. It got me a bunch of gift certificates and things but nothing major. (the odds were like 1 in 7,000)
