There is a cert for that?!! Uhg. The industry is going cert-crazy. Not only the does everything have a flippin' cert, but the certs themselves have 'concentration' certs... WTF?!

Uhg... all this crap and I find out I have to re-test for my CISSP THIS year, not next... that blows, now I have 6 weeks to hit the books. Uhg.

As I remember, there were 75 questions, (non-adaptive) and at least twelve or so had to do with FCC regs and IEEE specs. A lot of RF math type of questions, too. (Whats the output at the IR if the transmitter is 30 Mw and the cable is -1Dbi, etc.) stuff like that.

I don't know of any free ones, but here is a link to the CWNA site where they advertise their practice exams.

Dude, next to CCIE, that is probably the most meaningful IT certification going. Good luck on the test.

Yeah, I opted to just retest instead of earning and documenting all those %*#)@ CPE's they require to maintain the cert. From what I recall the test wasn't that bad. We'll see if that $500 ($600 if you register late) goes to good use or not. I look at it as the test is cheaper than all the crap you have to do to earn CPE's. Hopefully my stratagy pays off!

All of this talk of re-tests and crap, I don't think I want to get any certs. How long do most certs last?

Anyway, that just added to my reason to find a different field to get into. Maybe a janitorial service or something.

Depends on the cert. CCIEs must pass a recert test every two years. Not as grueling as getting the cert initially, but still not easy. CISSPs must turn in 120 CPEs (Continuing Professional Education) credits every 3 years or retest.

Pick your nitch and see what it requires...

I thought about that, but I would feel bad putting your mom out of business.
