I feel for you karen i have dailup at home . Being out in the sticks can be a pain.

direc tv has the most expensive satelite internet ive ever seen..... ah im glad i have time warner road runner

You all need to listen to some Alternative Country or Americana. Ray Wylie Hubbard, James McMurtry, Lucinda Williams, John Hiatt, to name a few. Mostly poets that put their words to music. Oh yeah, the Eagles are great, I agree.

my favorites include- 80's rock bands- poison, bon jovi, guns n roses, and such

Country- dierks bentely, toby, willie,sarah evans, faith hill, martina,gary allen, trace adkins- "rough en ready" - and many other country singers.

and i like the eagles too

My absolute favorite these days is Radney Foster -- I'm going to see him play live in Houston over the weekend!

Incidentally, he wrote some of the biggest hits for folks who have been mentioned previously in this thread (Keith Urban "Raining On Sunday"; Sarah Evans "Real Fine Place To Start", etc.) only his original versions are SO MUCH BETTER than the covers that have been "dumbed down" for radio acceptance!

I saw Radney about a year ago. he put on a great show. Also on the show were Jack Ingram and allison Moorer. They are both good, too.
