I bet those "Navajo Alarm Clocks
" helped his situation as you were pulling over...
It's nice to know that I am thought of while your on road trips.
I have this scenario in my head of your son in the back seat crying "Open my door, I got to go!" and your saying "Honey get me the cam-er-a!" If your wife is like mne then she's going. "Hang on a minute! Your son needs to pee!"
Now I have to some how put this in the "Add to the story but dont end it" thread. Everyone else will be going. "What?"

A few weeks ago in a thread we were talking about the wake up strips on the shoulders of a highway and how we use them to wake people up that are trying to sleep while on road trips.

When I was in Arkansas in July managing a fireworks tent for a friend. We stayed in a camper next to the tent which was next to a major highway. About 100 yards down thw road from the camper they had about 3 or four small speed bumps in the road to make you pay attention to a sign warning of a steep grade ahead. They were right before a brake check area. All night long we heard semi's hitting those things. It was almost a constant blump blump.... blump blump. Living in the country where the only sound we have is occasionaly a coyote at night, it took me 2 or 3 nights to get use to it. Needless to say I was ready to go pull those things up so I could go to sleep.

Took me a month to ge tuse ot the traffic and never did get use to the tire squealling either when someone was gertting on it. I was so glad to get out to the peace and quiet of country livin' again.
