Put exhaust on 05 Lariat? Need opinions.

Well i miss my last trucks nice sounding exhaust. Every truck i see or hear that has exhaust it makes me want to get it. Cost is a slight issue but not so much. How many of you guys have dual exhaust on your trucks? Do you think it looks some what "tacky" on a new truck? Im guessing after hearing everyones opinion it will push me either which way. Heres a picture of the truck as well:

Thanks guys!

Also how would you go about doing it? 45 out the back corners or straigh out the back? What size tips/belled tips or not?

I've always thought that a single exit exhaust looks better on pickups. Dual rear exit looks okay on a Mustang or something, but it looks gawky IMO on a pickup. Whenever the funds allow, I'll get one of those Magnaflow single outlet setups that pokes out at the stock location.

Personal opinion... I like the look and sound of a true dual exhaust on any truck. I personally like to run mine out at the corners or the sides. I had one straight out the back years ago. First 24 hours I smashed the echo chambers under teh bumper while backing into a ditch to load a motorcycle. So I have never put any straight out the back on a truck since.
In the exhaust section on here, there is always a discusion about what is the most effecient, power yeilding, and stylish pipe diameters. Browse or search there for more info and ideas.

Im not looking for power gains or anything. Im keeping it simple like all the trucks are around my area. Just cut the muffler off, weld on a Y pipe and go from there. Not going to put a performance muffler on or anything. The exhaust shops said thats what 99 percent of guys do. Ive been looking through the exhaust sections quite a bit but im more worried about "ruining the looks of a nice truck" so i thought in the GD id get some good input. Thanks again!

So im not the only one that doesnt put a magnaflow or borla muffler on? Good and hey how much were you quoted at? I can get my done for about 250 with tips. My parents will kick my *** if i go and do it but aaaahhh i love the sound. I know my mpg will DECREASE as well hehe.

Brewdude....im thinking straight out the back. I like that. I will hold different tips up at different locations to see what looks best. Hopefully ill have my decision made with in a few weeks. Guess i better check on the lady and see if she cares lol.

With a mustang that is loud I prefer my truck to be quiet. I do like the looks of the dual pipes out the back. Might do that and just keep the stock mufflers.

Tryto......just so you know, I have the Basanni System. The tips are about 18" long and 3.5" round. It sounds good but was pretty expensive. I just knew it was what I wanted, since I had a Basanni System on my GT and it was awesome( looks, sound and quality ) Plus they are real easy to deal with. I actually had a small problem with this kit and they send me all the new parts I needed no questions asked.

I cant remember who, but someone on here posted a web site a while back that had tons of different size and style tips. May be worth a search and taking a look.
