Belle...

Well, I was bored, and people keep posting their old cars, so I figured it was time to upload at least one of mine.

Here she is 2 Saturdays ago. I pulled the top, heater box, back windows, and a few other pieces off that day, then pressure washed her. Then last Saturday I took to get new paint. Go ManGo... from the new Daytona Charger and Ram in case you're wondering. I absolutely love the color, plus its not only a Mopar, but from a B-Body nameplate, even if it isn't really a B-Body anymore...

I'm just so excited, then seeing the classic Mustangs here I just got even more so...

Yeah, '58's are pretty cool. Dad recently traded a '57 Fury. I would have liked to have played around with that one, but he got a cool '51 Chevy 2dr post out of the deal...

Any idea when you'll get her back from the painter? Hard to wait, huh?

Well, if you are really interested, we could work out a deal.
I'm shipping my HD over to England next month in a 20' container so I could always ship the Fury back in the same

EnglishAdam,

Cool car! Now I've got the urge to watch "Christine" again!

closer9,

Wish I had the time and patience (and money) to restore an old car..... Always wanted to do that, but having none of the above, It'll be some time before that dream comes true!

Let a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity slip by in 1979 when I saw a 1969 Dodge Charger for sale for only $1,200.... Oh, it had a real HEMI in it too..... DOH..... It ran like crap, but it was all there! Bench seat and column shifted auto to boot. I was only 16 at the time, so I had no money. Told my Dad about it, but he just said "what the hell are you going to do with that POS..." I said, "but Dad, it's got a HEMI" He just said that it would cost a ton of money to get it running right and would get lousy gas mileage.....

Well, it was gone a couple of days later... It's probably still parked in someone's garage waiting for that restoration!

Mitch

I know how you feel. When I was 15 looking for a car I found a '68 Charger, 383 auto if I remember right. Wasn't original, but in very, very good shape. I think they were asking $6000. This would have been around the summer of '92 I think. I begged my parents, but funds were low, and my job couldn't swing it. I ended up with a real nice Mopar, but it was a late model 4 door...

Time and money are definately needed, but I just do what I can when I can. I usually have way more time than money, and that's not much... I've had this car for right at 6 years, and just now can afford to start putting her back together... I've collected a lot of parts and ideas over the years, though.

It's a lot of fun, and when finished you feel so much more pride in it than you do just buying one. I've never taken one down this far, so I'm really excited. I get to do everything I've wanted to others, plus do it all my way, and fresh/new...
