Country music...

First I'd like to apologize for posting off topic... (Gas prices, and politics)

Well, just wanted to share an interesting tidbit with yuns... I listen to country radio (online and Sirius mostly) from time to time, and have been hearing a song I really like, but never pay attention to who sings it. I thought maybe it was Tim Mcgraw, but today it came on, and sure enough it was UNCLE KRACKER! I then went and previewed his new CD on Amazon. That boy's got some talent. Anyone got his new CD? The song I keep hearing (and REALLY like) is called Writing It Down...

Also, there's a pop song I really like especially when I'm feeling a little down. It's called Best I Ever Had (Gray Sky Morning) by Vertical Horizon. Great CD BTW... Well, now Gary Allen (who's music I usually really like) has decided to cover it (pronounced butch-er)... just curious if anyone has heard it... I just think he should have stuck to songs about rain...

Gary Allen's version of that song is, unfortunately, one of my personal favorites right now.

I like the gary Allen song that is about the drunk guy that passes him in a truck, wrecks and dies. Before he dies, he says to Don't Tell Mama I Was Drinking". That is also the title. I love that song.

I guess I was a little hard on Gary Allen. If I hadn't heard the original I'm sure I would like his version. It's the same way with Sara Evans singing I Could Not Ask for More. Its okay, but I think Edwin McCain did a much better version...

Yeah, Uncle Kracker started out with and still "sing/raps" with Kid Rock, but on the side he makes music...

A song I really liked was Tim McGraw's version of "Why Do You Have To Be So Angry All the Time", then I heard it by the guy that wrote it, Bruce Robison. I liked it even better. Anyone else like it?

No, seriously, good stuff. I found the 30 sec demo on Amazon.

He covered Doby Gray's Drift Away on his last album, and did an excellent job IMHO... He's also sang with Kenny Chesney, and a few others I think...

I havent really heard anything by Uncle K that I like, but Ill hafta check it out.

I kinda like that Gray sky Morning sang by Allen. I guess I didnt even know it was a remake and that Verticle Horizan sang it originally. I saw Gary Allen in concert about the middle of the summer. Pretty awsome. It rained like a **** so it was delayed like an hour. Everyone was soaking and freezin for a bit, but it was worth it. But actually the best part had to be when the guitarist and bassist(i believe it was them) started jammin' out Paradise City by Guns n Roses lol.

I also saw Chris Cagel, Joe Diffie, and Mark Wills this summer. On Sept 17'th Im going to see Keith Anderson and Blue County, should be pretty good.

Gary Allen does a great re-make of the song "Wine Me Up" (originally done by Farin Young)...now that's a country song! It's on his "used heart for sale" CD...great disc...one of his best in my opinion.

Uncle Kracker opened for Kenny Chesney here in LR and half of his crappy music sounded like rap to me. I didn't like it at all.
