I heard on the radio the other day where gas in Hawaii reached $4 a gallon. The State goverment stepped in and put a price cap of $2.70 per gal.
I really didn't have an opinion on this at first, but now I am confused!
One: How can they step in and tell the oil company what thier product is worth. I thought we as a consumer decided that by decideing to buy it or not.
Two: While I'm filling up I think "Man, a price cap would be nice." But then I think to myself, "If we let them tell them what to sell thier product for then will they stop at that?" Then I answer myself. "No, they never have before. It wouldnt be long before they would be telling every company how much thier products are worth. It would likely be lower than the cost of production of that product. Our companies that we all work for will have to cut cost some where to compensate for the price cap on products. First thing would be jobs then wages. So now we are unemployed or making $5-$6 per hour less....
But by golly gas is cheaper!
As much as I hate the price of gas. This is not the proper long term solution either! It's going to get much worse before long if this continues. The price of gas will be the least of our concerns... We'll be more worried about how to make our house payment or how to buy food! We wont have cars or trucks because you cant afford payments if your unemployed!

How about converting to bi fuel and making your own moonshine to run for $ .62 per gallon!

LOLBTW: Home brew Bio diesel cost $ .75 per gallon to make! So moonshine is cheaper!

I went to gas station tonight for $2.67, they were sold out.
went across the street and paid $2.68 and was rocking the jeep to get every drop I could in that beotch.
