I was wrong dads isn't a Toro it's a Troy Bilt from Lowes.
So I just went and ordered the parts for mine...

I'd thought about a zero turn of some kind. But I know me... My yard is far from level in some spots. I'd be on the side of a hill, turn to quick, and flip it!

The old Cub Tractor, or what ever I end up buying with a belly mower, will have to be a wide front end. I borrowed my neighbors Johnny Popper and finish mower once with a tricycle front end. I had it on 2 wheels once so I quit, took it back immediatly. Note: I was being careful because it wasn't mine!

Now what are these Dixie Choppers? I've never heard of those.

Off to google for Dixie Choppers I go....

I've only heard of them on radio commercials but they sell them in a town about 45 mins from me at the tractor supply store.

Alright found the site. Those things are cool! single engine 50 hp, or twin 22.5 hp engines for a total of 45 HP!?!? I can't imagine the cost! I've never killed my 18 hp and it's mowed, what could have been a nice hay crop "if the field was bigger than 1/4 acre". Grass was taller than me! Granted I could only cut it with about 1/4-1/2 deck per pass and was in first or second gear. But it was the belt slipping, the governer was barely kicking in on the engine. It had a few ponies left to give me still.

Dixie choppers are over rated. You really want a Scag... their new Z-cat is perfect for home owners like us!!! I really can't wait until my Craftsman dies, but alas nothing can kill it. It's unstoppable. I may have to resort to sabatage next season...

^^ That's funny^^

I have seen that on Speed, Spike, Discovery, or somewhere on tv before. Those guys really take it serious and put some serious dough into thier racing mowers! I've been called a thrill seeker before but that just looks dangerous! I know they take the blades off and all. But, there is not a suspension to assisit in the corners. Soon as or if the tires grab, they roll! That's wild!

ESPN has covered the races before. That's exactly what's happening to my mower when it dies... getting slammed, huge engine and other goodies.. heh heh heh..

Get a kubota, dixon or a Scott which is a private label John Deere. If you can find a mower with a kohler engine we have had good luck with them. All i can say for you folks that get the $999 special at WM or Sears is that you get what you pay for

I have a Quinstar rider, 18hp Vanguard, Zero turn radius with Q-drive.

It's been great for the 6 years I've owned it.

I have an MTD push around, and it's been great too.
