Glass walkway over the Grand Canyon
they must have a good spot. I found this on the NPS page.
"The view from Toroweap Overlook, 3000 vertical feet above the Colorado River, is breathtaking; the sheer drop, dramatic!" So if they have found a spot thats 4,000'... it would be amazing.

I am sure there are spots that don't have the sloped sides. In the statement, it states that you can look 4,000 ft down, not that it is 4,000 ft above the bottom. It may be even higher than 4,000 from the bottom.
Like it matters!
I ussually cant stand on the roof, look over the edge of a two story building with out my knees shaking! Sometimes are better than other for some reason but I dont do it as a general rule!

The only thing that freaks me out about height is when Im ontop of a building, looking over the edge with nothing to hold me back. I've flown plenty of planes and thats never bothered me, climbed plenty of mountains, climbed plenty of rock-walls, jumped about 40 ft in the air on my dirtbike but I can't get over that one thing. Its frustrating.
I had a girlfriend once that couldn't climb stairs unless they were completely enclosed, or someone walked to the inside and gave her the wall side.
I'd love to take that bitch for a walk across the Grand Canyon on a glass walkway.

I'm with the guys who wouldn't touch that walkway with a 10ft pole. You wouldn't catch me dead even 30ft near the edge so you can forget walking over the edge... Why would anyone want to do that to themselves, I guess i'll just never understand...
My only two known fears are heights and snakes.
Neither renders me frozen or unable to proceed. But I do have to stop and prepare myself for the feat! It's not a comfortable situation until it's over, so I evaluate how bad does the feat need to be done. Climbing a tower just for the sole purpose of looking down... NO! Walking on glass so I can look down and see nothing beneath me... NO! Not worth it! So I'll pass.
That picture alone makes me very uncomfortable! Yet I keep staring at it hoping to get over it and become comfortable with it.

It is a real rush. Heights with out the visuale of something under your feet.
It is not the strength of the glass and the beams that would make me nervous
but the applied force on the contact point of the walk way to the canyon edge.
72 people would create a tremendous up lift on the inland assembly with the canyon edge acting as a folcum, adding the wind force, I belive that 100 mph
of wind is 60 lbs of pressure per square foot. Yep ... alone on dead air days.

You just cant see it from this hiegth.
When I approach significant heights, i just get that "oh cr@p I know i'm going to fall" feeling, like someone is going to push me over, even if no one is around. I get that death grip thing going on the railing and my nuckles turn white, and then I make sure I am as far as I can get from the edge before I let go
It's no fun, so i'll have to pass up the adrenaline-rush....
