DOOM movie?

See Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the exclusive trailer for 'Doom,' the long-awaited adaptation of the classic video game.

I want it to be good, I really do. 'The Rock' is even becoming an ok actor, but I really dont think they will do the Doom franchise justice. Can anyone give me a movie based on a computer game that hasnt sucked? They are probably going to go to make it pure action when it should be a thriller/action. Doom3 was scary, I hope the movie will be like that. Either way I will probably see it.

The original Mortal Combat was pretty good. Raiden was the shiz-nit.

I agree with you 31C, they screw a movie up by not sticking with the game storylines, etc.

Resident Evil would have been good if they would have made that bad boy a horror flick and not a chick flick.

Final Fantasy was ok, but I couldnt see "Final Fantasy" in the movie. It just wasnt there.

I want to see a REALLY good Metal Gear Solid movie...BUT, it needs to be computer animation with the original Voice actors, and follow the story of Shadow Moses:

Silence. You stand guard as posted, occasionally shifting your weight from one foot to the other. Cradling your rifle, you lazily scan the surroundings for the enemy. Was that movement in the shadows? An intruder? Nah, probably just a rat, or perhaps your imagination. You resign yourself to an uneventful watch and begin to let your guard down. Suddenly, from behind, powerful arms close over your neck. In less than a second, your larynx is crushed, defeating your attempt to scream. Your head is jerked sideways. You vaguely hear the grisly snap of your own neck, and as your world fades to black, you realize he's as good as the legends say....

The first Resident Evil was pretty good... I thought...

Part 2 sucked compared to part 1.

Then again; I have never played the games, so I guess I didn't have unrealistic expectations...

I'll rent it just to see it. I noticed the characters looked just like the Doom3 ones with maybe a "few" more poly's. Overall though that trailer looked pretty lame. I felt the same way about the game though. I think they could've done better with both.

Another FPS that I thought had potential for a movie was Quake2. Just the whole premise of it was cool. The whole Aliens attacked us now we're gonna take the fight to them, all the time they're harvesting humans thing rocks.

Mortal Kombat was a cool movie I thought. Actually fit to the game.

I agree with that, MK was very cool. But Resident Evil(the movie) just sucked, but what realy pisses me off is the fact both of these movies had the same director. That is something I cannot figure out. He made MK so great, but really f**ked up on RE. WTF?
