Here we go....I found this one from one of my atv riding trips from last year.

It had been raining all day and stoped a few minutes before sunset. You can still see the rain clouds but the pink sky is there. If the clouds would have moved out it would all be pink.

Yah we get those funky sky colors too, but mostly filled with clouds.

Yes, I've seen a red and an orange moon. In fact March 10th 1990 there was a blood moon, I remember like it was yesterday my grandmother passed away that day.

that's actually a convolution of another old saying. It originally was Rainbow at morning, sailor takes warning, rainbow at night, sailor's delight. This holds scientific meaning; a rainbow in the morning means the rain is west of you with the rainbow being caused by the eastern sun. Prevailing winds blow west to east, so that means the rain is coming your way. A rainbow at night means the rain is east of you, with the rainbow caused by the setting sun in the west. This means the storm is past you, and the winds will blow it away from you.

Red skies in morning or night are simply a function of dust and relative humidity. High humidity means a storm is likely to develope, but it really makes no difference if it's red at morning or night, either way spells storms. With a prevailing west to east wind, morning red sky (humidity in the east) would be less troublesome than high humidity in the west (red sky at night)

Just so you know I wasn't trying to poke fun at ya or be mean and/or belittling in any way. I was just pointing out what it was in an educational sorta way.

I try not to be an *** unless it's about current politics.

Is it just me or is there a BIG difference between the first picture and the latter pictures? The first one was 100% pink.

Probably a lot of dust in the air. The camera may have a tendancy to enhance that color range too. Most cameras lean hard on "blues" to make outdoor shots look better. Maybe that had something to do with it.
