Dish Network Bites!
Dish Network Bites!
Wife got me Dish 2 months ago for my Bday and I thought I was in hog heaven, since then its been out a total of 15 times that I know of. Everytime it rains it goes out, goes out in a severe thunderstorm ( I can partially understand that ), but when there is severe weather thats when you need a TV and/or radio. When it goes out you can't call customer service either because all lines are full or because it's not during normal business hours. So I called them up and told them to get it out. They reminded me that we had a 1 yr contract and I reminded them that they also had a gaurantee for service and satisfaction. This all happenned after they sent out a tech. to readjust the system.
I really hated cable and thought that the Dish would be the way to go but for me it wasn't.
Good thing is that when I cancelled cable in June they failed to disconnect me so now I have it free!

we had the same issue with Dish out here in MT, but they get 2x better reception than directv does...so we argued back and forth for a month or so...we now have like 4 satellite bouncer things coming out of one dish...only 2' of snow overnight stops it now!!!
I originally got Direct TV solely because they have the NFL Sunday Ticket. However, I have been thoroughly impressed with how reliable the system has been -- only been down a handful of times in the three years I have had it! I would never go back to cable!
Well any time is rains hard any satellite system is going to go down unless its a C-Band dish. Even satellite radio will go out during a hard rainstorm. You just have consider your options. Which is better cable or satellite?
For me, satellite is better just because my cable was going out all the time. Anytime they hooked up and one new in my subdivision it would go out. I have actually had my cable go out during the rain too.
