Only in Texas can you go from 95 degrees one day, to standing on top of your house for helicopter rescue 24 hours later...

Dayum! I assume that was in the 100-year flood plane, and the homeowners were advised to purchase flood insurance; otherwise, some people are @$$-out....
we had a gully-washer hit Dallas in Late July/Early August 2004 and several homes were flooded. They showed those houses at first light and the water was up to the tops of their doors, and on some roofs... That afternoon on teh 5 PM news, the water had receded, and was back withing the banks of the nearby stream, and all they had to prove the house was flooded was the water-line on the interior sheetrock, and the soaked carpet & furniture...
What a freakin' nightmare, especially if one had no flood insurance...
