Alright, most of ya'll probably dont think this is cool but I do. My Boss' golden retriever has some funky disease. They're going to remove her eyes, replace then with prosthetic and stitch her eyelids closed. Wicked.

Dude....that's SAD, not cool.
I have a lab, and for her to loose her eyes.....that's sad in my book.

Oh come on. Lighten up. It's alright, I knew some of you would have a differing opinion.
Huck - I think it has to do with comfort or something. Maybe the nerves expect something there

If it were my dog...I would put it to sleep...I have seen blind dogs before...and it is a sad sight...they run into everything....and I don't mean that as a joke either....My uncle's last lab went blind...it was a sad sad sight....
I had a blind ****er mix and he did just great. Was blind from about 8 years old till we finally had to put him down at 14. The only concession we had to make for him was to put a screen around the pool so he would not fall in. He probably would not have, but we worried about it, so we eliminated that worry. He enjoyed life and got around very well until he was just too old to function well. His name was P G T Beaureguard. Any one recognize that name without looking it up?

My wife loves her dogs like they are her kids, so maybe things would be a bit different if it were mine. We had to have an old dog put down not too long ago(old age, couldn't hardly stand anymore). That dog was as much her kid as her loyal friend and it tore my wife up. Was the right thing to do though.
i had a cat years back that had both eyes removed
