Can the Earth's Core ever stop rotating?

Is it possible? Can the Earth's Core Stop moving? Well, anything is possible.

Scientist's believe the Core is a solid chunk of metal surrounded by liquid metal. Well the liquid is moving in one directioin and the core is moving in another direction. Now, if I am wrong, please step in and correct me.

If the core "stopped" would we have natural disasters like in the movie, "The Core"?

yes the core creates a magnetic feild that sheilds us from the UV rays... ozone layer also controls the weather..the earth is a interesting beast and yes its possible for the core to stop... but only if we shoot a nuke into the center of the earth or someting... for that reason i dunno why we would want to??

I think it would be pretty bad if the earth's core stopped. I believe that the earths core generetes the magnetic field around earth, or at least has something to do with it.

Faster, you know a lot about this kind of thing.....

1. What if the speed of the rotation changes?

2. What keeps it in motion?

3. Is it possible for the core to "shift" and cause an "unbalanced spin" in the core, and if so, what would the outcome be?

I know the answer to 3...death.

The spinning of the molten core is what causes the magnetic field.

The magnetic field has absolutely nothing to do with the earth's rotation.

The earth's rotation has nothing to do with gravity.

Gravity is a function of mass.

The core will stop, but it would be an extremely slow event as the planet cools. the planet will most likely not be here by then anyway

if the speed of rotation changes it can throw the earth out of orbit, cause random weather changes. and the earth keeps in motion due to angular momentum which is why the earth rotates at a slight angle.. like when u pour water down the sink is spins in one direction and at the opposite end it does the same well objects in motion remain in motion unless an opposing force is great enough to change that and since there is no gravity in outspace there is no opposing force to stop the earth from spinning...unless superman does it...
