Alrite, heres the story. Im taking care of my neighbors house and dogs while they are gone. So I go over there to feed the dogs this morning and I see a little snake in the pool. It must have been 1/4 inch wide and about a foot ling. maby a gardener snake i dont know. So I start looking around for a pool stick thing. i look and look and I cant find any. So finnaly I go into their side yard thing where they keep their wood piles (forshadowing) and i see a pool scraper. not the one with the scooper at the end but a scraper so im like ok whatever. so I go back to the pool, get the little snake out, put it between the cracks in the deck , and start to go back to put the pool stick away. As I walk into the side yard, I put the stick up on the rack and turn around and there is the HUGE rattle snake rite next to the stack of wood. I mean it was HUGE. It must have been AT LEAST 2 inches wide and I dont know how long I couldnt really see it was all curled up. And it was rattling like crazy. So what do i do? I go into their garage to find my weapon. i find a shovel and go back out there and see that it is gone. I bang on the wood pile and here it rattle so I know it is still there. I bang on it alot and only heard it about 2 times. I was there for abut 15 more minutes and couldnt find it or hear it. so i decided to leave and come back later.

Any ideas on how I should kill it or capture it when I see it again???

 

I use a 12 Gauge myself....

 

If you have a pump sprayer (dont know what they are called), fill it with a pesticide or something with a strong odor and fill the sprayer up and spray where the snake went...the odor will flusgh the snake out. (I would say gas, but that chit is high, and you dont wanna be threason someone's house burnt down). When he comes out, whack em Tony.

 

used a lawnmower once... rev it up, tilt up and walk.

 

ditto on the 12 gauge or any of these, i would use the AK just becuase it would be fun

 

Since they have a pool, there should be chlorine tablets laying around somewhere. Throw some into the wood pile. That'll flush the SOB out, then ground pound his a$$ with a shotgun.

first, 2 inches wide isn't HUGE, just moderately intimidating. We got em in Oregon about 6 inches across (size of a grown man's arm).

Yeah, flush em out with some chemical. WD40 might work or gas as long as it's not near an ignition source of course. Scratch that, you said the neighbors wood pile. That might not work too well when they go to burn the stuff. I find a Ho(no not that kind, I know somebody is thinkin it) is a good snake killer. I've got one that is 2 inches wide and has spikes on the other side. I chase coral snakes around here with it. Make sure it has a long handle so not to get close enough he can strike ya. A pair of high leather boots might come in handy if you're trying to flush him out and he comes out where you don't want him too.

When I was a lil jamzwayne.....We (me and some friends) used to hunt snake, and gas is a great way to flush em outta there holes.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mission accomplished. I went over there about 30 minutes ago to see if it was there. I knocked on the woodpile with the shovel to see if it would rattle at me and it didnt. so I look around the pile on the other side AND THERE IT IS!!! SLEEPING. I never knew rattle snakes slept that well. I was makin hella noise to try and find it and there it is sleeping. I look at my shovel and realize its gona have to be a good hit or it will just **** the hell out of it. So I find myself another weapon. (I thought of catching it in a box but realized it would probly wake up and move the hell away and get pissed off so I didnt) So I chose an AXE as my weapon . I thought it should do the job. I go back there with my axe, it is still sleeping, I say goodbye to it, pull the axe over my head...and BANG!!. straight down the middle of it. It wakes up so I quickly swing at it agian...several times. I have finally like paralyzed the back half of it cuz the front half crawled under the deck so I couldnt get a good hit. (I attemted to hit the front but made a huge cut in their deck , oops). I get my shovel and scoop it up and it turns around and sticks its togue at me. NO ONE STICKS THEIR TONGUE AT ME. I take the axe and with one good swing on the head and its a gonner. I find a box and put it in it and then I leave. Ill probly go take pictures of my kill rite now.

 

yep been in 6 years and loving it, been on pendleton for a few years now, maybe some day the M-4 are kinda pricey i am going to get my full auto lisence first so when i do get it i will be able to unloud for real (the AK is full auto dont tell anybody)
