I was going to put this in the "HAVE YOU EVER HAD ONE OF THOSE DAYS..." thread... but due to the insanity of this, I felt that I should grace it with its own thread:

First off, my business card says that I am an engineer...but as some of you may have already gathered from past postings...I tend to wear MULTIPLE hats at my place of employment...IT is one of those hats.

I just got a call from one of our less tech savvy employees complaining that her computer is broke....Mind you....this tends to be a call that I get on a daily basis...

Well, this time she said that her "programs" are gone and that the network deleted them. (now to speed this story up, let me translate: "My start button is gone...it was there prior to you reinstalling windows for me because I installed hundreds of useless crap from the internet that bogged my system down so much that I could not even run windows let alone any of my programs")

I take a closer look.....yep....she dragged her taskbar down to a point that it was no longer showing on the screen....

wow...

 

I hear you. As with many of us on here, I deal with that kinda junk daily. My favorite thing round here is people saying something doesn't work.... I go try it and it works just fine.

 

Yeah -- but if she's pretty does it really matter?!

I don't think there are words to describe how wrong that comment is...I guess you would have to see "her" in person to understand what I mean...

 

If you can't find th humor in this...then you my friend...are one of those which we mock...

 

On a funny side note, we have a system administrator here at work who's in charge of the entire dealership's computers. Once a week he runs a system wide scan to check for virus'es etc. Apparentely he can see what sites we go to...he asked me "whats this F150online site you are ALWAYS ON?" I said mind you're own damn business I outrank you!

 

That's the kinda chit that is making me go mad.
