Thumbs up Dukes of Hazzard Movie

I was just wondering who has seen the new movie. Me being a huge fan, I was very skeptical about it, well I finally talked myself to see it and I was glad. I don't care what anyone says, it is a damn funny and good movie. It is a lot better than what everyone is saying. Probably not everyone will agree, but I liked it.

Gets a Big thumbs up here. I liked seeing the General Lee skidding around Lee circle in N.O

The previews all make it seem like a horrible movie. The characters are all wrong (cant have a tall skinny Boss Hogg, cant have a completely slutty Daisy Duke). You need a bunch of countryboys to play countryboys. Cant just pick up some Hollywood actors and have them try to pretend to be countryboys. The modern day setting turns me off from it too. Also it seems as the Duke boys are portrayed as nothing but criminals, seeing them blowing up cop cars, etc.

The only reason Ill see it is because Jessica Simpson with that HOT southern accent.

Thats what I thought too, and I totally went into the movie with a bad attitude. In the end the movie turned out a lot better than what all of the critics said it was. I just want everyone to know its a better movie than what the critics are saying it is to be. It really surprised me.

So are you saying it's a great movie? Or just better than you expected it to be?

I hate when I am told, this is a great movie it is the best thing since sliced cheese. Previews look awesone, Blah blah blah. I get so pumped about watching _____ movie. Then am let down because it doesn't meet the my expectations of it. On the other hand if I watch one that I dont think will be that good and it then if it exceeds my expectations I will think. Hey, that wasn't to bad.

BTW your stil a trader!

Well, I broke down and went to see it (buddy bought me a ticket to get me to see it). I must say, it really wasnt that bad. I thought it was actually pretty good. I agree though, the casting sucks. Rosco and Boss Hogg were the worst I think. Rosco wasnt a blubbering idiot and Boss Hogg wasnt a short fat guy. Anyways, just dont go in expecting to see something like an old Dukes of Hazzard TV show, youll be dissappointed. Its funny, and lots of action in the General Lee.

I went to see it last night. I thought it was better then what the critics said. It was hard getting used to Uncle Jesse swearing all the time, you never saw that on the real Dukes! I think that's what kind of made it funny, stuff they did that the real Dukes never did.
Also, I think the movie is worth going to just to see the General tear it up! that car is by far the coolest car around and if I had the money I would buy one! I see they increased the handling of the General a bit by adding BFG T/A's instead of running the old bias plys!

I've always had Radials since I've been driving but I remeber dad having several sets of Bias tires.

Didn't the bias tires handle better on gravel roads, in fields, etc.?

BTW Uncle Jessie's charecter was a Good Ol' Boy he would rarely swear! He was set in his ways so he wouldn't have changed. His charecter is suppose to have more moral, personal charecter, and a back bone than to do that.
What kind of movie must it be with a weak Uncle Jessie that bends wit hteh wind like that!
