well when the biggest tractor on the farm gets stuck in a ditch, it could be trouble. luckly the johndeere got her out. by the end of the day, the fellow driving the tractor had broke one of the turn signals off and then got too close and slid in the ditch, it was his first day driving it.

How may times did the chain break? We had a cotton picker burn last year in the middle of a field and we had to buy three hight strength chains to pull it out. I know the chain broke atleast once

that would make for a bad day too, luckly we got out with no damage(except for the turn signal) just a wasted afternoon. it would not have bothered me as bad if he wasn't driving the newest tractor we have.

Reminds of when I got the work truck stuck on a gravel bar, then my boss got the van stuck trying to get me out, then got the bus stuck, then the little Ford tractor... We spend a good hour getting the tractor out, then got a longer chain and worked on the other three...

It was so late in the day, and we were so tired that it was funny to us even at the time...

Damn, that's not cool but at least it didn't roll. THAT would have been ugly.

When I was 12 years old I was driving down the road at 6:30 one morning pulling an 8 row cultivator. There was a tree right on the edge of the road and I hit it with the tractor in road high, wide open. Everybody said I invented a new piece of equipment, the v-shaped cultivator!

Luckily I was on a cab tractor (new 2594 at the time) and it threw me out in the floor. Coulda been ugly.

As far as being stuck, you oughta try rice farming. We had to dig a tractor out one time with a backhoe. My brother was pulling down levees. It was a 7140 and you could step down about 1 foot out of the cab onto the mud.
