FORD GT at local dealer

I just went down to a local FORD dealer to see the FORD GT they have in the showroom. It is blue with white stripes on it. MY GOD what a car. I think the sticker said $172,000. It is at Sunbury Motors in Sunbury PA., if anyone wants to go see it. God, would I love to take it for a spin. I think they are taking sealed bids for the car too, I think.

About eight months ago, Dale Jarrett Ford in NC had two GTs in the showroom. One was a black w/ silver stripes that was being sold on eBay, and the other was a silver w/ black stripes they had auctioned off. One of the NASCAR drivers won that one. The other had a nice sign on it....

Your wife called.
She said you can
buy anything you
want.

Of course, my wife didn't call...I had already spent my allowance for the next five years...

The dealer I got my 05 KR from this week had one on the showroom. It's bright red. Sticker price is $155K, dealer wants $250K and will probably get it. It had ropes all around it so you could not put your grubby paws on it.

I asked if I could get a test drive if I bought a truck from them. They said the only person to drive it was the dealership owner and that was just in the parking lot.

Sweet looking ride.

I drove next to one on the hi-way. The thing that hit me most was how small it is. I mean my Lariat positively dwarfed it. The guy was in the middle lane going EXACTLY the speed limit with a NJ State trooper right next to him in the right lane.

KC-10 FE out...

Here's a story for ya...

Bluebonnet Ford in New Braunfels, TX currently (as of Monday of this week anyway) has 2 GT's. It's interestin how they ended up with two...

They placed an order for one (red) when it was first announced that the GT was going into production. Sometime later, a local professional race car driver (salesman wouldn't give up the name) ordered a silver one. The silver car came in first, and the owner of the dealership decided to "test drive" the car that his customer ordered, putting close to 500 miles on it. When the customer went to pick up his car and saw the odometer, he told the dealer to keep it, he is paying for a new car, not a used car. So the idiot lost out on selling a $150K + car, then the other car came in. The salesman did say that a guy from Arizona was buying one of them, I forgot which one. He is flying in sometime soon an driving it back home. That would be one helluva drive!

Jarret Ford here in Florida had a white one with blue stripes in the dealer at the time I was buying my truck. They told us they had rejected offers of $225,000 for it. We tried to get them to just start it up in the showroom but they wouldn't.

They had a red one down at Joe Meyers in Houston, my dad put an offer down for 185 and for a while it was the highest bid i think then a guy came in a day before they were gonna sell it and gave them 190. They didnt call and ask my dad if he wanted to up his bid or nothing just sold it.
Dad was very pissed. He wasnt gonna keep it thow cant afford too lol but he had a friend in Ireland when we use to live there who wanted one and was gonna pay 245 for it. :santa:

Believe this if you want but its the gods honest truth.

I went to my dealership for my first service of my truck and they had a red one with white stripes back in the service department. I asked the guy if I could look at it closer and he said sure, like it was just another Ford. SO I am chekcing this thing out from top to bottom every square inch. The tech comes over and we start talking about it. I said man I'd just like to sit in it. He said its the dealers son's, hop in. So I actually got to sit in it.

I trully can't explain how exciting this mundain thing to most made me. I didn't drive it, I didn't do anything but get in and sit in it for few minutes. It really is one of the top ten coolest things I have ever done in my life. It sounds lame to say that but being a car guy this thing just blew me away. SO I get out and bang the shiot out of my head on the door and everyone gets a good laugh, and they fire it up. It just sits there puring, again can't explain how cool it was.

I buy lottery tickest every once in a while and If I ever hit it I will buy me this car. The vicerale feeling of just sitting in it was unreal, but to start it up and drive it would be a real dream.. I can't think of too many cars that I have the saem feeling about. I've been in vipers, I been in an original GT 500 Shelby, but this is awhole nother level of vehicle.

Sorry for the long story but the damn car is a piece of art just as much is its a real car.

The trooper was probably waiting for the guy to light-up a smoke.
