Tint Anger

So my dad bought me window tint for christmas last year. I was very busy and couldn't get it done untill January. After we argued for a long time about the percent of the tint and who was going to do it I submissed. He made me go to ford and get 35% in the front and 20% in the rear. I figured it was a free $250 tint for me so whatever he wanted went. I spent 2-4hrs. waiting for this stupid tint to be put on. I wandered around, I grabbed a bite at James Coney and just sat there and watched them put it on. Last week after work I get into my truck roll my driver's side down and about 2 to 3 inches of the tint start flapping in the wind, real nice. It hasn't even been half a year and this crap is coming off. I wondered if this part was crap then, there must be crap on all of my windows. I looked at all of them and sure enough I have tiny bubbles at the top of BOTH my rear windows. I am pissed and I refuse to pay ford again. What would you all do?

All reputable tint installers give a lifetime warranty for defective installation. Bring it back and ask them to redo it. I have some bumps/ dirt under the tint on my passenger window (never noticed it until I rode in the passenger seat) and I will be bringing my truck back to my tint guy to have him retint that window.

Ussually they tell you that your not suppose to roll the windows down or slide the back glass for 48 hours after the install. So you might not want to tell them that you rolled the window down. They may have forgotten to tell you but they might still say it was your fault. We don't call them stealerships for nothing.

Now that this thread has been officially , let me try to get it back on track.

I live in Mississippi and they have just passed a new law ENFORCING the tint regulations. They said that unless you have a sticker from the Highway Patrol saying your tint is legal, you will be unable to get an inspection sticker. I dont need an inspection sticker on either of my trucks for a while, but this sucks. They can pull you over for dark windows and ticket you.

They just passed a law a couple of years ago that you have to have liability insurance (its about time, right??) and they do not enforce that law, but they are going to ticket people with dark windows?? I was stopped a while back at a road block and they were checking driver licenses, inspection stickers, and license plates. I got up the cop and he told me to go on. I stopped and asked him why he wasnt checking proof of insurance, that it was the law now. He got real pissy and told me he knew the law. I asked him then why arent you enforcing it? He said fine, let me see your proof of insurance. I told it was too late and drove off.

Dang Dude, my Dad didn't even know what tint was until I came home and he couldn't see in my truck. He was like, I don't understand, but OK.

I hadn't thought about Ford tinting windows. We have some very reputable tint shops in my area that stand by there work.

I have been busy, working and getting by. I got stopped in my VW (when I had it) I had 5% tint all the way around and the cop (Tippy, real name) didn't say anything. I guess luck was on my side that day. I got a 44 in a 30 ticket. My aftermarket 18in wheels and tires meant that I needed to recalabrate my speed-o-meter.
