ICE is nice . . .

For all you kids who are complaining about the heat of summer, keep in mind that this is just around the corner . . .

And, if this summer is unbearable, just look at this pic of ice and maybe it will cool you down.

Well, I don't know about Maxim as I've never read it, however it is in Europe (but that wouldn't exclude it from being on either an ocean or a lake).

The generalized response to "Where is that pic from?" is the internet, which makes the more specific response a bit suspect, however, it's Lake Geneva.

Was thinking of adding to the usual Christmas trip and heading down to Switzerland. Have not been there is almost 20 years and don't remember much of what little time I spent in Geneva. When searching the net for info, I came across this pic, and its caption which claims it is Geneva. Heck, I was there for two days in December long ago, but it wasn't THAT cold.

I've never seen anything like that !!!! Although I would imagine that some you you in the more northern states and Canada have had ice conditions that are that bad (after seeing some of Buckdropper's pix of his house buried in snow, I would guess he's experienced it).

After seeing that, it certainly gives one pause about visiting during the inclement months, let alone living in such a place.

Edited because proper grammar and spelling correctly are kinda important.

If it's fake (which I suspect) then they did a great job and paid a lot of attention to detail.

The ice is the same color as the water so that checks.

Look at the thickness of ice around the antena vs the thickness on anything else.
That dosen't check

Plus if the wind was blowing hard enough to blow the water forming the icecycles on the trees at a 45* angle then that would cause the ice around the antena to be thicker on the drivers side of the antenna becasue the water would be blown to that side before it froze.

The icecycles on the trees in the foreground are at a 45* angle and the ones in the background are straight up and down. The wind coming off a body of water is ussually a lot more even and wide spread throu out the full beach front.

It could be true, nature can do some wild things. I've watched it rain right up to the fence line of my property before then stop directly on the fence line.

If it's true then it's amazing

If it's a fake then it's spectacular.

Either way it's a great pic and does add a since of coolness, I di that all teh time to my pc. During teh summer I ussually have a winter scene as my desktop and through the winter I have a summer scene.
