Country music folks

If you like country music, you need to see Jason Aldean's new video "Hicktown." There are tons of awesome huge Ford trucks in that video tearing some mud up! If you get a chance, check it out online or somewhere.

Its a pretty good song, but I wouldnt call it country. If that is called country, then its a sad day for country music.

That's what people said about Cash and the others back in the day. Dont me such a stuckup country fan. Its a lot better than anything Rascall Flatts or Lonestart put out.

Yeah, it is a lot better than them, but still not country. I dont really have a problem with people like them though, other than they are just cowboy wannabes. Like Tracy Byrd said, "A little sissy in a cowboy hat aint country." The biggest threat to country music I see are Big & Rich.

Like I said, That's exactly the type of thing people said about the outlaws aka the highwaymen back in the day. I'll battle side by side with you against Pop country but I'm seeing Big and Rich with Brooks and Dunn come this October and it's going to be a blast!!

I'm with you TX....today's CMT and country radio ain't real country. Call it what you like...play it on CMT....give them CMAs....I'll just have to accept that what has been country...its heart and soul are gone.

Pack up and move to Branson...cause nashville is just southern pop now...

that video is awesome. that's what happened at country thunder in twin lakes wisconsin last wednesday after a huge monsoon rain storm. i still got mud under the truck from that day.

as mentioned above, there is a blurred line between pop... southern rock.... country rock.... and country music. last week at country thunder, skynyrd and ZZ top were there?!?! now i love skynyrd, but they are southern rock, not country. and montgomery gentry is getting close to coutry rock on alot of their songs.

don't get me started about big & rich and cowboy troy.

cash and waylon still spin on my CD player.

It's the new young country singers that are changing country. Not that its bad. But I gaurantee if you see a younger person singing country, they ain't gonna sound nothing like George Jones, or Merle Haggard, or Hank Williams. Country music is taking a pop turn. And it's coming from these new upcoming young singers carrying thier rock n' roll roots over with them. They're trying to send the message to the young country crowd that the drinking, cheating, lying, mid-drift, belly-button baring, I love beer, Nascar loving, 4-wheelin' is the shiznit, I'm a badazz, No one knows what it's like to be the bad man image is the only way to go. Ok, I got carried away there a little. That's whats happening to country. It's getting carried away. Not that there's anything wrong with that either. Most, but not all country music ain't nothin' but Rock and Roll with a little twang in it here and there IMO. Hopefully it's just a trend that'll wear off, but I doubt it. Besides, we'll always have the classics that we grew up hearing on the radio to listen to. We have to change with the times people. I agree that some of the stuff they play IS NOT country. But new things seem to have a strange way of bringing themselves to light.

The thing that made me despise a lot of these new "country" singers is what has happened to the King George Strait. I didnt mind most of the new people, until I heard George Straits new CD, Somewhere Down In Texas. The CD is horrible, except for a couple songs. He has to change his music to what he is not. He cant stay with the style that he is famous for, because that isnt what sells today. Im disgusted that someone as great as George Strait has to change because some new guys want to change everything around.

Talk about a major assumption. George Straight doesnt change his style for anyone but himself. If his new album isn't what you're use to, thats all his call. Every one of his CDs sells like mad regardless of his traditional style. I assure you he did not change styles just because he wasnt making enough green.

Hey, no kidding? George Strait shouldn't change for nobody! He's a legend! If he were to crank out a few new "old style songs", they would be #1 chart toppers. That is truly sad though. I even play and sing Amorillo by Mornin' almost every time I pick up my Guitar. That's one of my favorites. I don't know all the words, but I know most of them. That song has been stuck in my head since I was about 11 or 12 years old. I'm going on 30 now. Thats got to be a powerful song to leave an impression on me after all those years.

Dangit peacemaker you have me singing amarillo by mornin right now
I dont mind some of the new stuff but I hate Keith urban and rascall flats with a passion. The only 2 people that I really like listening to are george strait and Alan Jackson. I believe neither one of them have drastically changed their style of music. I like the new Van Zant song "Help somebody" because it's kinda old school southern rock/country. Their just isnt a word to express how much I hate keith urban and rascall flats
