I ask because a friend wants the trim and now seeing yours, I'll give him mine.

Good job

Well, I walked out to my truck after work. Looked at the trim and said, "it cant be that hard". I started from the front and pulled. ***** came right off. You should have seen the dirt build up under it. YUCK

I got it home, broke the WD40, what little of the sticky tape was left came off in a few minutes. Then I washed off the WD40, and that's that.

Trim is basically rubber. I am sure that if you clean the back side of the strip and find the right "sticky tape" you can re-use it.

Piece of cake.

HA HA

I had already thought about that, and put it to a little test. I parked the wifey's car (KIA) next to mine and opened her door......if that trim is to help against "door dings" it is setting WAY too low. her door would leave a ding about midway in the door, and her car sits low.

Then, I parked the mother-in-laws Nissan next to it, same thing.

Nope. I just pulled it off. If I would have used fishing line, or something like that to take it off, A) it would have left less tape, and/or B) it prolly would have scuffed the paint under the trim, it was pretty nasty under there.

Jamz dude I like your truck. It's pimp tight. That looks better without that trim. Now lose the toolbox and steps and make it quit donkey kicking (shackles) and you'll be sweet ride! That just this little boy's opinion.

Thanks valve. But just because my truck is "pimp tight" I will never, EVER dress like Kid Rock.

LMAO
You are so much like me it's not funny. That is so something I would do. I'd sit and think about it all day at work then get a chance in the parking lot and say, "Let see what happens." Unfortunatly about 50% of the time it doesnt work out as planned. Then I'd comeing running here with a thread titeld "I broke my trim now what do I do?" LOL

The mud and junk is one of the things I dont like about trim. Over 10 years or so that would sand through the paint from road vibration then start rusting the door out. And it doesnt matter how often you clean your truck it still builds up behind there. Guess I'll rip mine off tonight after work! LOL

Matt,

Do it when its hot out. The glue on the tape will be tacky. It was close to 100 yesterday, and it was a breeze to pull off.

We got a nice well needed storm last night. Sun is out now so it's going to be a muggy 103 too.

Edited to add:
And I know I am getting ready to go out and work on some boats in a few minutes. Hopefully I can get them done and come back in the AC before it gets to hot!
