Supply and demand. The more people trying to pre order will give a rough idea of the demand so the store may set the price accordingly.
$300 sounds bout right.

I will be waiting for PS3 myself since Sony resigned a couple of my favorite game developers to exclusive rights, but other than that they both look really sweet.

From what the fellow nerds have been saying 300-350 depending on market demand.

God it's prices like that that make me miss pong and pitfall

Yes, they are both supposed to be backwards compatible. So don't sell off any old games just yet.

I think it's gonna be an interesting "battle of the consoles" again this year.

I predict:

#1 - PS3 - Cell chip hype has me on pins and needles. I hope it lives up to the hype.

#2 - 360 - If it wasnt a microsoft product and the controllers still suck....well, you know.

#3 - Revolution (nintendo) - going for something different, and I dont know if it will come close to the other 2, but who knows, Nintendo might suprise the hell outta us. Who knows.

I read from ign.com that initial price guesses were in the $400 range for the PS3 and Xbox.

I might get the PS3 cause the Revolution is going to be pretty weak technically but I like the idea that Nintendo has better and will be buying the revolution when it comes out.

I heard thev360 will only be able to play certain of the top xbox games. I heard the 360 will cost about $350 and the PS3 will cost closer to $500.

$500....nah, rumor. I read in one of my gaming mags, that Sony will keep the PS3 at a competitive price. If they went the $500 route, Sony will be loosing out to the 360. Now, ALL of this is hear say of course. If Microsoft tries to sell the 360 for $400 (hypothetically speaking of course), then Sony will do the same.

Battle of the consoles. For a gamer, this is exciting.

What about the Revolution? I persoanlly am going to wait for them to be under $200 before I think of getting any of them.

As for HALO 3 they really need to release it cause HALO 2 sucked ***!

Bill Gates said Halo 3 would be released when PS3 was. Bungie said that they had no intention of doing so. I think thats a bad idea, that just means they will rush the game and it will suck, just like the last one. Besides, how much is ONE game gonna hurt the sales of a console? Not like people havent already made up their minds what they want.
