Dyson

Okay can I just say how much I LOOOOVE my vacuum? The Dyson rocks

Although, everytime I vacuum it makes me question my house cleaning skills. How can I be on my 3rd sweep over the hallway and STILL pull a canister of doghair out? UGH!

But ROCK ON DYSON, ROCK ON!

I believe they do. I have the "animal hair" one, but they have several different models.

I always wondered how well those worked, glad to hear they really suck (in a good way). We have a Tri-Star and it works like no other I have ever seen.

How do these vacs compare to the Kirby. I've been contemplating stepping up to a real vacuum cleaner, from the Dirt Devil I've been using. It just doesn't do the job like a Kirby does. Those things are amazing. I've been looking at the Oreck; but, I'm scared they're all hype. They spend a lot of money on advertisements and run a lot of specials. They are a lot cheaper than a Kirby though.

I don't know aobut the Kirby. I had a 1958 Kirby and that thing didn't do so well But I did buy a new Oreck and hated it. Seriously, the Dyson is expensive but fricken awesome! And I love that you can take it all apart and clean it if you want. (i'm kinda **** like that)

Another vote for the Dyson. We have one, and it really sucks.

I've never used an Oreck; but, the Kirby's I've used were great. Very powerful. I can't begin to imagine how good a Dyson is, if it's able to satisfy someone who isn't impressed with a Kirby. The Dyson looks a little gimmicky to me. I worry about it's longevity and durability. I'll pay more for something that is durable and works well.

No bash intended. My screen name tends to color my replies. I picked it for the Lightning forum. It doesn't go over well in GD sometimes.

Thats what I need, a Dyson. For those of you with Siberian Huskies, I am sure you feel my pain.

Sorry, I can't agree about the Dyson. I have that and an older Hoover Windtunnel. As far as get dirt out of the carpet, The Hoover beats the Dyson hands down. I can go over the carpet a couple of times with the dyson, not get any more up, run the Hoover over it and get more dirt. I think at least part of it is the beater bar on the Dyson is vacuum powered, where the Hoover is motor driven. I just don't think the vacuum driven beater bar works as good.

agree 100% we have a hoover wind tunnel, and that thing can get 6yr old dirt out of the carpet, but it cant suck up dog hair worth a dam. so we have the the dyson, which rocks at getting hair and other particulates out. so mom delegates the chores to my brothers- jeff goes over with the dyson first, and kev gets the wind tunnel to get the dirt after him.

If we weren't changing our house to 99% hardwood floors, I'd look at getting a Windtunnel also. My brother has one, and has the Dyson also and he says the same.... Windtunnle good for dirt, Dyson good for hair and string and such.

dirt devil upright here

but mrs zap can't use it

only took 30 sec when it was brand new for her to suck up a throw rug

make the house smell like the burnout box at the drags

and promptly spit out the blower (beater ) belt...

and i had to fix it

so now i do all the sucking around here

...zap!
