Gotta Rant !!!!!!!
Gotta Rant !!!!!!!
OK . . . what is going on lately????
Starting last fall . . . (when the beaches were still empty), on any given day, I'd pull over on the side of the road, next to the beach with no cars around for a very good distance in either direction. Nice, quiet, ALONE. maybe watch some dolphins or just enjoy the quiet time.
And then, inevitably, some A$$*ole would decide to stop by and view the beach too. Now I have no problem with others stopping by to view the beach . . . but with open space as far as the eye can see, why do they have to pull up right behind me . . . within inches?
The di**heads can park anywhere, but NO, they have to park right next to me. And a little later, someone else comes along and where do they stop . . . right up against the person behind me.
WTF?
Look, I understand the whole herd mentality, need to be close, bonding BS (I've got a masters in psych for Christ's sake, so I get it)...but it's going beyond that . . . it's not just manifesting itself here, like this, it's happening to a rather scary degree all over the place.
It's almost like some kind of POD PEOPLE kind of behaviour.
And evidently I'm not the only one experiencing it. At my grocery store they have put up signs at each register that say something to the effect of "For the safety and privacy of yourself and others, please do not enter the counter area until it is your turn." And just from the credit card/debit card terminal thing I can see the need for not having people looking over your shoulder...but people in line like this seem to be crowding closer and closer when they have tons of open room around them. POD PEOPLE!!!!
And tonight was no exception. I'm at the grocery store. It's kind of late, like 9PM, so there is hardly anyone there. I'm at the register and a guy comes up behind me with a cart full of food.
Now this clown has a ton of room. He should be standing with his cart. But NO...he stops his cart at the entrance to the check-stand (where he should just stand with his stuff (A), but instead he walks the 8 feet or so over to where I am and is standing right next to me with his shoulder hitting my arm (B).
Why? What is this need, and why is it happening a lot more than normal lately, people starting to bunch up tightly against each other everywhere you go?!?!?!
IT'S SOME KIND OF SICK, WEIRD, POD PEOPLE BEHAVIOUR THING!!!!
I finally had enough of this $hi*. So I said something to him that I think scared him so much that he immediately took 5 steps back, and I don't think he'll be standing that close to anyone for some time, if ever.
Is anyone else noticing this? It's really getting to be a bit out of the norm.

chill out man, it happens to me all the time. It really annoys me when people are standing right over my shoulder while i'm entering my pin# for my debit card so I just ask them for a little room. I guess there just curious but it's none of their business. Some people just arent considerate of others.
On the beach parking thing, I have a possible explanation.
The first guys sees your car, and figures you parked where you did for a reason. Like it must be the best view, or that spot has the best path down to the sand. Once two cars are parked their, well, that's confirmation to the world that you have parked at a premium spot. So here comes the 3rd guy. It never crosses their minds that you pulled over to enjoy a private moment, and they could have the same if they parked 100 yards away.
The supermarket thing is a bit different. Some people are just plain rude and are oblivious to the concept of personal space. However, there may be cultural element, too. If you are descended from persons that have lived in high density areas for generations, the 'comfort zone' of personal space may be less than 1' in your culture, where most American's prefer about 3'.

This retarded behavior is one of the many reasons I quit going to the theater. Go to the theater for the early show, very little crowd. Get in the theater and there are literally 15 people in the entire theater. Pick out my seat and get settled in. Two minutes later some a$$clown and his woman come in and sit directly in front of me. Not a couple of rows up, not a couple of seats over. No. Directly in front of me. What, if anything, is going on in these peoples minds, if they have any?

Why do birds
Suddenly appear?
Everytime you are near
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you
Why do stars
Fall down from the sky?
Everytime you walk by
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you
on the day that you were born
The angels got together and decided
To create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moondust in your hair
Of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue
that is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

Another reason why I hate people in general. I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday at the grocery store. Old hag behind me practically had her tats resting on my cart. Back off woman!
