Now I know Mike; but not well enough to know what he drives. Mike didn't seem like a "truck" kinda guy- I was looking for him to be in an E320, E500, Impala; anything but a truck. As we walked all of a sudden the lights flash on this big Chevy Silverado 2500 HD.

Man; that thing was N-I-C-E...

Leather, fully loaded. It's not a 4x4, but it had those big Nitto Terra Grappler tires on some 18's... Painted tonneau; limo tint. The truck looked mean- and rode hella nice...

I was very impressed with the firm- almost luxury level ride, the seats, the accelleration of the big 6.0L... It's not as polished on the inside as say- an F-150 FX-4; but it's way more truck- in my opinion....

I don't know if I'd take that Chevy over a PSD F-250 equally equipped- but it was one HE!! of a nice riding truck...
If you were to buy it, and given your apparent size, you would regret it about 2 years down the road. It's like D said, they fall apart from the inside out. They rattle after a few thousand miles, and the crash rating on those are still the lowest in class.

If everyone is honest here, if you take care of the motor of any truck, it will take care of you. Chevy's problem is that they make a decent motor, but stick it in a limp chassis. Useless for anything serious.

I know of what I speak. My company ride is a 01 GMC 1500, and the alternate truck I drive is an 03 GMC 2500. The wind noise on both started about 15K, and the dash rattles along with interior squeaks started almost immediately. Dependability has been good on both trucks, but the integrity of the chassis is pathetic. Compared to the 01 F350 we have with over 100K, it's no comparison at all. That 350 is still quiet inside, and the v10 in it has been flawless. (A gas pig, but it's hauling some serious weight.)

The 07 Chevs get a new look. It'll be interesting to see how they beef it up and refine the interior. The new Ford's are way ahead still.

Oh no- I'm not buying one..

I just went to lunch and back in it...

That's it...

My (2) Fords and (1) Honda are still in my driveway.

He's got 60,000 on it; and it was riding rather well- thought. My truck's a year older than his and I only have 41,000 miles. He's getting his roll-on to the tune of 20K+ a year..

I haven't driven like that since 1991-1992 when I logged 24,000 in one year, but that was in Ari "By God" zona... We were 100 miles from scheming on hot UA babes in the Tucson Mall and at the Wildcat house.

My uncle has an '05 2500HD crew cab 4x4 and It rides like a light duty truck. It's the 6.6 disel and that disel is so much more quiter than the PSD. It has all the options on it but what I like about it the most is the bose radio system. It's a really nice truck but I wouldnt trade my f-150 for it. The '06 f-250 my dad is looking at is just as nice but it doesnt ride as good as the chevy.

I think I'll get in on the chevy thread too.

My sister and brother-in-law just got an '05 GMC Yucon with the 5.3. I took it for a ride. It's nice. Rides good, is comfortable and that 5.3 is ok (a bit sluggish compared to the 4.6 in my F150). I'm happy they got a safe, reliable, comfortable vehicle. If I were getting an SUV I'd get an Expy.

you can get the 6.0 in the Yukon...the expy only get's the 5.4...Yukon has a softer suspension, the Expy has more "truck" ride to it...Chevy trucks are lighter than Ford, thier quicker and get better mileage...I don't think chevy and Ford want to compete head on, Gm is building softer trucks for the consumer, ford is trying recreate the "Built Ford Tough" work hard play hard, were as Dodge just want's to be the fastest from a stop light to stop light.....I do like one aspect of GM trucks...thier floor boads are lower, on the Ford every time I open the door, if thiers any thing on the floor board, it falls out, on the Chevy/GMC thier a lip that you have to step over, keep's the beer botles from falling out of the company truck when I'm on company picnics....

My best friend has a Tahoe, its a real nice vehicle!!! its got a 5.3 and plenty of power.
If there is one thing wrong with it, it would have to be quality of interior materials. Plain Pitiful!!!! I like the exterior styling of both the Silverado and the F-150 both classy when compared to the ostantacious Titan.
I like the ride in the tahoe its nice until you turn then you nearly turn over!!!
Both my truck and his "HOE" are solid vehicles thow. However i wouldnt call the f-150 the slower of the two, dude at school got a brand new silverado crew cab with the 6.0 and everyhting and my truck before the rims and tires had no prob pullin away. I had the Air Force and the 1714.
Any way you go Ford and Chevy are certainly better than The Yota, Nissan or Dodge in my opinion.

Tahoes are nice-probably my fav. SUV.
Im hoping my next truck is a Chevy HD with a Duramax-Im on the look for one.

Wittom-I thought someone had lost their mind when you said the 5.3 felt slugish compared to your 4.6. Of course then I noticed your blown-that explained a lot

Allot of people like the Tahoes and they are nice vehicles but they could really use a better interior and drving manners.
