Wakeboarding?

Anyone in here wakeboard? I need to get new bindings and right now I have some Stinger Pro Bindings and they don't fit anymore and when they did fit they were a bitach to put on. I need the bindings that open up, can anyone recommend me a decent pair of bindings?

Thumper, I have always wanted to start wakeboarding.

We are currently looking at boats. I've noticed that the wakeboard boats seem to be inflated for price for a comparable boat of the same length. Is the wakeboard tower essential? Is it something that can be put on an older boat so I can save money on my boat purchase? Some info would be great.

I used to skate a bunch half pipe street pretty good all around, will that help or hurt me when it come to wake boarding. In general since I've never water skied (but have snow skied) how hard is it?

Its really easy if your in shape and you can get over getting up, thats the hardest part. Honestly, we just use our 21' Regal with the Fast Trac hull and it does pretty good. If your REAL serious about trying to make something in the wakeboard sport then definatly go all out and get a boat designed for wakeboarding. I have a friend that I normally ride with and she has a Ski Nautique so thats actually what we use most of the time. Im sure you can put a tower on a older boat but if it doesn't have balayst tanks, its not really going to put out enough wake for you to even need the tower.

I didn't know what the difference was either...
I'm thinking about buying a new one next spring and looking at Rinker.
The Rinker wake board boats Rx1 or II is the same as thier Captiva 212 but are a couple of "K's" more. I havent tried to wake board behind my boat yet. I do knee borad, ski, and occassionally tube. I dont want to try and Wake board until I can be set up to get lots of air and break my neck right!

If anybody has a used Neoprene mens size Med life jacket for sale cheap I would be interested. I don't have a ski vest anymore, lost it some where. I am currently broke, I've been laid off for 3 months now. So it needs to be cheap! Only reason I'm able to get on the lake at all is everyone that I have been going with is paying for the gas for me.

My wife pulls me on our seadoo. Getting up was the hardest part because I thought it was like getting up skiing. Not at all, need to lean forward so the board is more flat on the water.

It is fun, I can't get the heighth as you can from a boat but it is good enough for this old man.

The tendency is to lean forward more with a wakeboard, but I think that comes from the hand/arm position. The skiing position is arms more outstretched, and the towrope bisecting your shoulders or slightly lower. Wakeboarding is a bit easier if you concentrate on keeping the angle of your arms and the towrope
lower, more like bisecting your belly button or slightly higher.

Please make note of the fact that I ski very little, kneeboard occasionally until my recent knee surgery forced me to stop, and wakeboard none at all presently. I do have two friends who still ski, kneeboard, and wakeboard competitively even at their advanced ages. I listen constantly to their suggestions to people new to the sport, hence the opinion.
