Well, not that I've ever had any doubts, having read the comics when they've clashed- but, now it's easy to see that although Ben Grimm would win a ***** talking contest, at the end of the day, The Hulk would "kick rocks" on "The Thing".

thats not a fair fight, its like putting an ant to fight a bear.....too big of difference in sheer strength and size by the hulk. so, unless you make the odds fair by restricting the hulk to the same size as the thing. then it would be interesting and i would have to openly vote for the thing (ben grimm, bodyguard in human life vs david banners geeky professor in human life) in other words the thing would win due to the prior experience in fighting. thus the thing would win if it were a fair fight.

Yeah- the Hulk has alays been bigger than the thing- but, only by two feet in height, and 200 lbs...
The new/improved Hulk gets up to 15 or 30 feet tall? Thing definitely wouldn't have a chance against him...
But, against classic Hulk (9', 900 lbs) against Thing: 7'2" 770 lbs. it was more of a match...
Heck, now Thor is listed at 6'9" & 700 lbs... Talk about a mound of muscle... In the Marvel Universe, Thor was second only to Hulk in terms of sheer strength; but not even Hulk could hold Thor's Hammer. I have two Hulk vs Thor comics- one with Hulk fighting Goldilocks Thor, and the other against Redbeard Thor. (Circa 1996/1997). Wherein Hulk & Thor fought, and Hulk stopped Mjolnir mid-swing as Thor swung at him, catching the hammer and breaking its momentun instantly. He held it for a second, long enough to smile at Thor, before Mjolnir took him to the ground (by the hand) breaking Hulk's fingers in the process.
Overall in the Marvel Universe, the Hulk & Juggernaut are tit for tat in terms of power & strength. In X3, they should bring Juggy in.

If we are looking at the "classic" Hulk, we should also look at "classic Thing. He was closer to 6'4" (he was only average height for a superhero)
As far as strength... in the Secret Wars the Beyonder dropped a mountain range on the heroes and the Hulk held it on his shoulders. AND it was the intelligent green Hulk at that!
When the Thing, Juggernaut, Abomination, Wendigo, Thor and those other strong guys can hold a mountain range on their shoulders, then maybe they might have a chance against the Hulk.

You slipped two in on me... I never heard of Abomination, and I also saw mention of Wendigo once (In a Wolverine comic). It was obvious that Wolvie wouldn't have had a chance against Wendigo, but- I would not have thought him in the same strength ball park as any of the above...
I kinda stopped getting comics after I left the Army, and stopped going to the field on FTX's, right around the time that "Apocalypse" and some other big dude was about to come to town.
The fore-runner to whomever the big man was- put a whipping on Juggernaut- his first true defeat. Had Juggy running.
Stan Lee said (In an article I read) that Juggernaut is everybit as unlimited in hsi stength as Hulk is; and that in their battles- there has never been a true winner.
I'm something of an artist, but I can't draw Hulk nearly as well as I can draw Juggernaut- I'd love to see a picture of the Hulk & Juggernaut doing a tug of war against each other. Probably would need one hell of a rope/cable to hold those guys....
An adamantium coated rope, perhaps???

one of my all time favorite skits on Saturday Night Live. There is a super hero party and Hulk bombs out the bathroom.
Then Superman finds out that Louis Lane used to date the Hulk (John Belushi)

Back in the 70s and 80s the Wendigo and Abomination were both "supposed to be" as strong as the Hulk. I believe the Abomination was also Gamma derived. He had the same physique as the Hulk but was dark green and had almost a lizard like skin and a reptilian looking face.
Found it:
HArd to believe a comic reader like me never heard of this guy... But, then again- back then I was more into Spidey and The Avengers.

FYI, Wolverines first appearance ever was in the middle of a Hulk/Wendigo battle.
I was a HUGE X-Men fan back in the late 70s to mid 80s. I don't follow it too closely anymore (no time) Never much liked the Avengers or Fantastic Four. They were too "goody goody" and if I wanted 'goody, goody" I would have read DC titles.
Imagine me as a kid seeing Wolverine for the first time! Smoking, drinking beer, swearing and attacking opponents with those claws! The birth of the anti-hero!
Man, those were the days.
I loved comics....still have 1000s in bags and boxes sealed up but I gave up on it. I use to love reading them but slowly the unread pile got higher and higher and I realized I no longer liked it. This was early 90s.
The art work and writing went to crap. You could no longer pickup and follow the Captain America book without buying 4 other books because of the cross over tie-ins. I think at one point I was dang near buying every book Marvel put out. My collecting came to a stop shortly after the Infinity War (sequal to the Infinity guantlet) if you guys can remember that series.
I miss Spidey and some of the stories some but then I read they restarted the universe with new histories, etc. Bah....glad I gave it up.
