Whatcha think?

Well, recently I've been thinking more and more about things to do with the Belvedere when she gets back from the paint booth. Well, a few guys I've seen have been running Mustang Bullitt wheels on their Mopars. Well, I happen to have a set of those. They go pretty much everywhere I do... So, I got to thinking about maybe trying them on the Belvedere, and getting something different for the Stang. Well, I've thought about several different things, but I don't really want to spend a lot of money which big diameter tires are generally bigger money...

So, I remember that I had two aluminum slots in the trunk of the Belvedere, so when I get a chance I'm going to try one of the Bullitts on the Belvedere to see if/how well it fits, and while it's off I'll try one the slots on the Stang. I've always been more of a muscle car fan than a sports car fan. So, I thought I'd play with PS...

This was just something quick I did, but I'm loving the look. I'm think a set of polished 5 oval slots with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's and something a 275 on the back... I'm sure the stoplight grand prix guys, etc would thrash me for this, but it's not their car, and I'm really liking the look...

BTW, I stole these wheels/tires from a '78 Vette I found on ebay. If someone has a comparable pic of a 5 oval slot wheel with a BF Radial T/A tire I would appreciate it...

You no likey? Well, I wouldn't want the Vette slots if that helps...

Yes, Belle is a 2 door. Convertible to be exact. No, push button tranny's were done away with before this body style. If I just got what I wanted for Belle I'd get American Racing Torque Thrust II's - 15" up front and 16" out back... and run the same side wall... or something close...

She's a 318/auto. Once she's back on the road good, I'll start working on a new drivetrain. I plan on building a late 90's Dakota 318 and keeping the FI, probably try to use the OD tranny too.

I was just thinking about doing something different, and maybe getting something different for the Stang. I just keep hearing people tell me I need 18's or 20's for the Stang, and I will not go any larger than 17". I just don't care for the look of big wheels and no tire... and 17" are just almost too big for my taste on this car. I think they were perfect on my truck...

Man, if a set of Cobra wheels would fit on your car, I'd opt for those. Look through a copy of MM&FF. They have some good deals on wheel/tire combos. I like the Torque Thrust wheels myself on just about any muscle car. I've seen some with dark gray spokes that would match your car almost perfectly.
I think I've seen those wheels in Jeg's and Summit Racing catalogs.

PS- I think the Cobra wheels are 18", so you might not like those. But I think they should have the Torque Thrust's in your size. Just throwing a few idea's at you. Have fun!

Edited to add: Haha. I just saw in your gallery that you already have the torque thrust wheels I was talking about. Clumsy me. I think they look good with the torque thrusts myself.

I agree, but so does everyone else around who has a Stang. There's even a DSG V6 with the same wheels... I want to be different..
