I just got a letter from Ford Motor stating that they are giving employees 4 additional X-Plan numbers. I can get a number for anyone interested. All it takes is your address and last 4 of your SSN...

Good news

 

On a F-150 X-Planis not the best deal you can get. It's ABOVE invoice, and people are regularily buying F-150's for anywhere between $200 to $400 BELOW invoice......

 

Ford also offers whats called an "A" plan price wich is the true employee discount price. My dad gets the "X" plan price on many different brands even gm because Marathon oil is listed as a supplier. However there is a huge difference between the 2 two plans. Thats why we bought the Ford because we were able to get an "A" plan price because my uncle works at the Kansas plant. Im not sure on the particulars but i wanna say "A" plan price is 2% over invoice or maybe thats the "X" i dont know correct me if im wrong.

 

Turns out that for each X Plan no. I give out , I get money for. So my local salesman is helping me use them... I think it is money in his pocket, too...

 

If that is the case, don't expect much for your resale values.

 

For my 2005 F150 the X-Plan was $150 below invoice. The A-Plan is listed as being $1557 below the invoice. The D-Plan is listed as being $1457 below invoice.

I know the pins are good for 12 months. But how long does the cash incentive last, for you guys giving them out? I am waiting untill the 06 come out or untill I can place my order for one to replace my 04. I would hate to waste someone's x-plan pins.

 

X-plan is great for someone who doesn't want to negotiate or simply can't.

If you take the time and know your stuff you can do better than X but X does make it simple.

 

Pin numbers are good for 6 months, and the incentives are based on what's available at time of purchase.

IMO the only time you might hear of someone paying below X-Plan is if the dealer needs the sales to make his target on a stairstep program. Stairsteps are retroactive so we may loose a little on one to get a chunk back on all. Can't speak for all dealers, but that's what happens here.

 

They showed you the wrong invoice then because from everything I've seen X-plan is 4% over invoice + $150. I'm not sure if they've changed it in the last couple years but that's what I've always know it at. And A-plan was always invoice.

I bought my truck from about $200 below the X-plan price that I got through forddirect for my truck. And it was like $190 below Edmund's TMV for my truck. I'm happy with the price and really happy with my truck so far.

 

It was my understanding that "A" plan was 4% under invoice, and "X" plan was A plan price + 4% + $150. I bought mine under the X plan it was $74 under invoice

 

My 2005 X-plan price was below invoice too...
