I just got home from going out to eat with my girlfriend. My dad let me take his new Range Rover out cause he just got it back from the dealer after its computer screwed up. Well anyways my girlfriend and I were on our way home from the mexican restraunt and this jerk in a red nissan pulls up next to us and starts trying to get me to race him. Im in the Range so im like no way cause its pretty slow or at least i thought. I ignored him for a few lights and he started getting real close on my a$$ then would fly by and just screwing with me. Finally i got pissed off and at the next light when he was reving his engine i decided to play along. The light turns green and i pinned it. It lept out infront and held it through 2nd gear when it began to solidly pull away. At about 80 or 85 i let off to find him about 4 lengths behind me. The whole race was no contest. At the next light he pulled up behind me and didnt mess with us anymore. It was the Range Rovers first ever race and i had always thought it was slow but it kicked the ***** out of that Nissan so maybe ill be driving dads car a lil more. lol
just wanted to share. cause im stuck here for the night cause were leaving early tmrw.

 

ummm what kind of nissan did you race??? ...they make more than one kind of car/truck.

Although now I think about it he never had aq chance against the Range Rover its supercharged and good for 400hp lol i always thought the damn thing was slow.

 

So now your dad's range rover is supercharged???

 

Its 3 weeks old its an 05 range rover supercharged. He never lets me drive it.

yeh lol supercharged rang rover should be AWD? right. vs a titan with 315 ponies at the crank.. my little 4.6 hangs even with titans they got better top end. but ford always has more low end. but sounds like u had fun man!!! i aint been racin in a while low on gas money and i took my chip out cause cant afford the 93 octane anymore.

 

Now that i think about it i forgot allot of things in my original post.
I was still excited lol like a lil kid hahahaha. It was also the first time i got to drive it its been in the shop 4 times in the last 3 weeks its a piece. 3 times for a problem with the computer and 1 time for a Oil leak. If anybody is thinking about getting one go for it cause its that awesome but expect problems. I'm just glad that i wasnt in my truck cause he would have beat me.

 

Oh OK- you said a Range Rover Supercharged...

That's 400 horses under the hood with the 4.2L.
The line is pretty long for one of those, so your Dad must make considerable coainage, and has the patience of Job.

If you were in the regular RR, a Titan would hand you your @$$, but in the SC- the Titan became the proverbial knife at a gun fight.

 

My dad knows the owner of the Range Rover dealer in Alaska who then sold it to my dad and had it shipped here.

 

The blwon Range Rovers have nice motors, they hit 60 mph in the low-7 second range. Quarter miles should be in the mid- 15-second range.

Not as quick as the fastest trucks out there but plenty fast for a luxo-cruiser.

 

for the record, thats a 400hp BMW V8... and I don't see too many BMW V8s going down to anything made by Renault.
