Anyone seen/tried Coke 0 Yet?

Supposed to taste very close to Classic Coke. I had to give up high octane soda recently because of prediabetes. To ma all diet pop tastes like ****, withthe possible exception of C2. Hell, I even have to drink light beer now.

Life sucks.

I'm a huge Diet Coke nut, but I haven't tried anything other than regular Diet Coke. I hate change, lol! I'm sure eventually I'll try it.

Yeah I tried it once. You can taste a very light smidgin' of a difference between it and regular classic coke. After the first three big gulps you'd never know the difference.

No. Now there are three basic types of Diet Coke.

There is original Diet Coke (Which in my opinion never tasted like Coke at all and really tastes like *****)

and the two new entries:

Diet Coke with Splenda (Which tastes better than original Diet Coke but doesn't really taste like Coke...well, it sort-of tastes like Coke, but not really)

and

Coke Zero (Which tastes pretty close to real Coke)

Diet Coke with Splenda is sweetened with a combination of Splenda and acesulfame potassium (aka "Ace-K"), as opposed to Diet Coke which is sweetened with aspartame, (actually original Diet Coke in cans and bottles is sweetened with aspartame, and Diet Coke that is dispensed thru fountains is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and saccharin).

Diet Coke tastes nothing like Coke and has a terrible after-taste.

Diet Coke With Splenda, as I understand it, has basically the same formula as Diet Coke, but since it is sweetened with Splenda (which is derived from real sugar) tastes more like real Coke. Splenda doesn't really have an after taste per se, but, I've tried Diet Coke with Splenda and to me it has a slight after taste, although it is INFINITELY better tasting than original Diet Coke.

Coke Zero has a different base formula than Diet Coke and Diet Coke with Splenda, it is supposedly closer to the formulation of real Coke. It is sweetened with aspartame (like original diet Coke) but it is blended with Ace-K (like Diet Coke with Splenda). Of the three, it is closest in taste to real Coke, but there is something not quite right about it. It sort of reminds me a little bit of Tab (for those of you old enough to remember it) but without the horrible after-taste that Tab had.

Of the three, I'm gonna have to go with Coke Zero, however either of the two new Cokes (Diet w/ Splenda - or Coke Zero) is better than Diet Coke, especially if they decide to start serving it in restaurants. I hate eating at a restaurant and having to settle for Diet Coke . . . because it is so bad. I'm so much happier when a place serves diet Pepsi . . . which, by the way, still tastes just as good if not better than either of the two new diet Cokes.

Regular Coke was always best, even better than regular Pepsi, but I had to give up the high calorie drinks long ago.

For now . . . Coke Zero or diet Pepsi is my choice.

Yeah, Tab was pretty good. That's kind of what the after taste is like with Coke Zero. Almost flat without the sharp after taste. I'm drinking a Diet Coke with Splenda right now.

I think it has that stale after taste because of the artificial sweetners they put in it. You ever open a pack of artificial sweetner in a resteraunt and lick the tip of your finger and dab it in it and taste it?

Tastes like chalk to me. Maybe that's why it has that stale after taste.
