Now that im semi calmed down, can I tell you about my weekend?
So heres the deal. As most of you know, I always take my truck to Conn. to get it worked on. Last time It was in for the steering nibble (vibration) and rear end whinning and a few other things. Oil changed in the rear, few miles later the whine came back. Tires rotated, a couple minutes later the vibration came back. So after a few weeks I get some time to take it back up there. They look at it , decide I need new gears in the rear, and again rotate my tires. So this past weekend I went to N. Jersey for a party and my bro from Conn. brings my truck to the party. He calls me on the way and says I'm not gonna be happy 'cause its not fixed. I tell him just get here and I'll take it for a ride. As he pulls up to the party I notice something weird with the rear slider. Well last time I was up I had the seal repaired to stop it from squeaking, which it did. I guess they made it too tight and as he was driving down the highway, the left side of the slider popped and shattered all over. So now im pretty mad. So I take it for a ride and sure enough thre front end is now shaking worse than ever before. The good news is that the whining in the rear is gone. So I tell him to take it back and have them fix it. Now im pissed. After the party we all went back to my older brothers house. So were loading up and I hear my little bro yell to my big bro..."The truck is on fire" so im like WTF, go running over yelling at him to get the kids out. Smoke is just bellowing out of the passanger side sil plate. So I rip that out and see a wire burning, I grab it and break it in half to stop it from burning, and of course put a nice burn in my hand in the process. After the smoke cleared I seen that my carpet now has 2 nice long burn marks in it and a wire for my sattelite reciever was pinched in the rear seat frame from when they took the seat out to repair the window last time. I guess the weight of my brothers kids in the back mad eit rub thru. I never use the back seat, thats why it didnt happen sooner. So now my blood is BOILING...That night I got online and started to look at new trucks to see what I want to get next, since at this point I was done with the truck and never wanted to see it again. I talk to the dealer on monday and they said that the front tires threw 2 of the weights off, so they were rebalancing the tires and rotating them again. Can your blood get any worse than BOILING?? I told them no friggen way, its more than just that. I faxed them my tire warranty letter from Ford and as they were reading it another guy came in with the same complaint. They ordered me new tires. The window is on order and will be replaced as soon as it comes in, and there just not wanting to take blame for the wire burning. I'm going to talk to them again and explain it all once more. I would hate to drive around knowing the carpet in the back is burnt. Its wednesday night and it took me this long to calm down enough to even write this. I'm still confident in the dealer that they will get my truck fixed. Its only a matter of time. They now realize that my vibe issue more than just a tire rotation. Im hoping by next weekend it will be done and I can go up and get it. I hate driving this taurus they gave me (i know, I could be walking) but I just want my tuck back. Plus I have my Autospring kit sitting here waiting to be installed.

Yeh everyone is fine, nobody was hurt other than me *sniff..sniff* and my burnt finger. Im chill now. Im keeping the truck so no worries there. I dont think it will be worth using insurance for the carpet if they don't own up to it and buy me a new one. I'll just pay for it myself if I have to. I might ask them to give me the carpet and I'll put it in myself.

BREWDUDE,
Man.... I'm almost at a loss as to what to say. (that dont happen often
) That simply sucks!
Didn't you say that you needed to get some plywood for something?
Strap it ontop of the taurus. If they say anything tell them you paid for a truck for a reason and it was one of them was so you could haul stuff and the other was so you didn't have to drive a taurus.
In 94 I was having some work done on an S-10 that I had bought. They loaned me a tauraus and I scratched teh heck out of teh roof getting some lumber. Next day when they seen it and asked me about it thats what I told them. They took the tarus back and gave me a 93 1 ton Silverado Diesel they had on the used lot instead.
(this was a chev dealer and in 94 so the 93 was pretty much new at the time) I drove the he77 out of that thing for the next 3 days.

You should sue if they don't have your truck fixed TOTALLY in like 3 days

Everyone wants to sue everyone...next you'll want restitution for your ancestors and the indentured servitude they were put in to.
I ain't saying what they done is okay, but add on wiring ain't the dealership's problem. They do need to make things right though.
Quintin..not to be an A hole...but Thats why I take it to the professionals. They are supposed to do ther job and do it right. Part of the job is to make sure things are back in place correctly. Plus, the wire was with a bunch of other wires all neatly in a loom under the back seat. It should've been caught. BUT...I do understand, ***** happens, and at that point theres not much one can do. I just want them to own up to it, see that it was pinched and just give me a new carpet. It was new when I brought it in, thats how I expect to get it back.
Craz3d..Im not the type to fly off the handle and cry law suit. That will get me nowhere.
PSS..LOL..I do need to pickup a bunch of molding this weekend. Plywood on the roof, now thats funny. I just couldnt do that. I take my truck to this dealer for a reason. Theres not a dealer in my own town that will give me a car to use. These guys do, so I gotta be nice to them

That really sucks man. I have had my share of professional f#&*K ups as well. Sometimes the "professional" isnt all its cracked up to be. A lot of guys dont look at your truck and take care of your truck like you do, professional or not, they see a paycheck. Not all but most...
Good luck with it. Keep us posted.

It's not necesarrily that they were not working as professional either. I have done similar things to my own stuff before. Either get in a hurry or are just going along as routine and dont think that this one step may not be as routine as the other thousand vehicles you have done. Who would think to pull up the carpet to see if there is a loom that might get pinched by the seat? I would have taken the bolt out, removed the seat, do what needed to be done, then set the seat back in and replaced the bolt. I probably wouldn't have checked for pinched wires either.
