Update on Hit And Run Question (Houston)

Update:The car was registered to a woman in California 5 years ago. The plate has expired and was driven by 2 white men. 5 years ago the car had 130,000mi. on it. The chances of finding it were greatly reduced. Insurance is going to cover it. So if anyone finds a 3000-GT that is black with the California plate: 3WDR863 in the Houston area find out where it goes and notify a police officer or post it and I'll call 'em. Thanks for all of your help though.

She was ok thanks to ger seatbelt. Her head very lightly tapped the steering wheel. Her bumper bowed in and the two pieces (bumper) above the wheelwell were disconnected. The side where she was hit tore up the metal underneath the bumper. But, other than that everything was fine.

I have a question for all. If I was behind her and I was switching lanes and the 3000-GT was following too close, going too fast (I didn't know) and he wasn't paying attention. Is it my fault or his?

I was coming up behind her (she was stopped) and I switched lanes when she was stopped. I looked over at her and she smiled. A second later that d@mn 3000-GT came out of nowhere and hit her. He had to have been right behind me following too close or he would have had time to stop.

That's what I thought, I wasn't sure though. I just feel guilty. If he would have hit the F-150 I wouldn't have cared. She has a little Lexus SUV. I have already backed into a pole, I couldn't see. (night time, backing up in a parking lot, toward the street, the cement pole was the same color of the street.)

Well, it was a hand me down from her mom. When she got her license. She hasn't had it a year. But, it definitely is not my fault right?
