Wifey got a new ride

She comes from a GM family, so naturally that was her first look. I would have prefered a Saturn L300 (GM also), but she picked that Grand Prix because of the selection available (we needed it now to replace a piece o crap we also have that's a money pit lately). She got the GT with leather, heated seats, side curtain air bags and a few other misc things. I don't like the front very well. Kinda boring, but overall not a bad looking car. Here she is... (I still have my truck, don't worry )...

The Camaro is her original graduation present from her parents. It's a 1992 with the 3.1 V6 (no V8 ) That's not the piece o crap I speak of though. We have a 1995 Cavalier that's a complete turd. One thing after another with that car.

Here's a few shots of ole reliable from 2 years ago...

Sadly, it's just the 3.1 V6 ...but it does get around pretty good. It's her car, so no tweaking...LOL

I'd kinda like to have an old IROC Camaro from the good ole days....vrrrrooom

Last pic of the her Camaro...25th year...

Yeah; that was a solid V6 though... All 145 HP of it...

My best friend had a 1991 Teal Green RS- That car would do 85 MPH in 3rd, and only be at 3,000 RPM...

My friend was also an border-line alcoholic, so I was only too happy to be the designated driver... I drove that car many-a-night.

I had one for a hot minute, right before they called me after a week saying they needed another $1,000 to get me financed. I ended up with a 1991 Chevy Cavalier, I-4, Coupe... I hated that car... Until I drove coast to coast for $57.00 of gas...

Wow, I was sweeping my truck out for the first time in about 4 months (it rarely needs it because of the Husky liners and I'm careful anyway) and I couldn't help but notice how much nicer and better quality my TRUCK is compared to my wife's new Grand Prix (MSRP on her model was $28,500). Even the vinyl portions on my rear seats are so much nicer than the vinyl portion on the Grand Prix (she got the leather 'trim' package). The plastic on the doors and dash is so much nicer and much more durable looking than on this Grand Prix. I like the car quite a bit now that I've had a chance to look it over and so on...but seriously, there's no doubt the materials used on the interior of my truck are much better! No joke.

Yep, we got the employee price, but we get it anyway since her grandpa is retired GM (Fischer Body welder).

I would have liked the Grand Prix with either the supercarger or the 5.3 V8. Would have been even more fun. BUT, I'm not allowed to drive her new car. Mainly because she's not allowed to touch my truck. She wouldn't want to drive the truck anyway. It's too big and intimidating to her. I bet she'll let me drive it eventually - when we're going somewhere together. She did say though we'll take the truck on vacations, even though the Grand Prix with the 3.8 V6 gets 30 MPG on the highway.
